He started the trend of the 100 crore club and it was the 1994 superhit ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun!’ which made him enter the coveted club at the domestic box office.
There were many films that didn’t touch that mark but it was the 2011 film 'Ready’ which changed the entire trajectory of the box office in the industry. For Salman, it was 'Wanted’ that made him stand out.

The numbers are astounding and you might go bonkers after knowing the exact amount that Salman’s star power has earned in these 20 years. But, before we take you through the game of numbers, let’s talk about Salman being the trendsetter.
We got in touch with Trade Analyst and Film Expert, Girish Johar, to know when was the exact curve that Salman brought in the change of getting huge numbers at the box office and became a trendsetter.
“He started his magic from 'Wanted’. Salman has got the new curve in the Indian box office industry with his movie, 'Wanted’ and I personally feel this was the movie which changed the entire tide for Salman Khan fans. It was the movie when the audiences were bowled over after a series of debacles and since then, there was no looking back. In fact, he is the one who has got the maximum number of centuries at the box office, as all his movies have been doing 100 crore. Recently, some of his movies haven’t been up to the mark but every actor faces such a downer, but I don’t think any actor can match up to his standards. Presently, 'Bharat’ is clocking around Rs 200 crore mark at the Indian box office market. A certain section of some people didn’t like it, but it still did work well and it shows that even his average films can make great numbers. It clearly puts a stamp that he is the undisputed king of Box Office,” Johar told MensXP.
For Salman Khan’s movies, it has been a plus point that even the content takes a back seat and star power dominates the whole equation. On this note, Johar said, “Yes, his star power is huge and even average content like 'Tubelight’ or 'Jai Ho’ also clocks 100 crore in the first few days. I believe his power does take on in the initial stage but then the direction and content come into play. If it’s something like 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, content does add to his star power. Salman, definitely, does give a jump start and you can’t measure his star power.”
Barring his age factor, Salman has always managed to impress his loyal fan base.
