One of RB men handed him a file with details about Anu’s personal life. He smiled like the cat that got the cream and said it was “time to go in for the kill.”
There is a saying “when someone shows you who they are the first time believe it”. There was a reason RB’s underhanded tactics as a corporate raider were shown- buy stock, weaken the business and buy it for cheap.
He was shown instigating labor leaders to turn against management. His approach to business is one of entitlement to take what he wants by hook or by crook. We’ve seen no proof that he has run his business in an honorable way. Moloy has a history with him.
Wouldn’t be a far stretch given his tactics to set Anu up to to take the fall for his own actions if the end game would be to get Anu out of the picture and force Pre’s hand in agreeing to his deal to save Anu from arson charges.
When takeovers go his way it sure would boost RB’s ego to up the ante and go for the bigger fish. This time around it’s a war on Anu both on business and personal fronts as a favor to Komo to some extent. A win is likely to make him over confident. That’s when things have a way of catching a “winner” off guard.
Will Pre decide that it would be easier to take RB down from within? With Mohini telling her in no uncertain terms Pre will never be Basu bahu and Veena asking her to consider walking away from Anu bec of the hell Mohini could create in her life post-marriage will this give Pre’s reason to enter the enemy camp and save Anu?
Pre has since his name was mentioned referred to RB as a dark shadow. That opinion given his ruthless moves recently are not likely to change any time soon. Even if he starts to mellow a little, Pre ought to remember that “a leopard never changes its spots”. RB’s ruthless side will always be simmering below the surface. Winning in business can feed the need “to go in for the kill” and that power with every takeover can be a drug to keep at it.
RB may couch his underhandedness as an “offer” to Pre to save Anu and move in/marry him. Will circumstances force Pre to “make a deal with the devil” to save Basus and sacrifice her own happiness? With Mohini holding Pre’s “feet to the fire” she may feel cornered into believing this as her best recourse. Why do the leading characters go solo just when they need to get help in dealing with major problems?
Will Anu/AnuPam team up with or without Nivi to play their own game to trip up RB just when he is distracted by Pre?
RB has his Achilles heel, his vulnerability that could take him down a few pegs. But for now we don’t see a father anywhere near his little girl Sneha. Instead he’s seen focused on “going in for the kill”.
