Desis are having plenty of fun thanks going by the euphoria. What is your post even supposed to mean. That india missed such a golden chance to become a paradise by not voting for the Congress or something?

And stop with the shade on the desis NRIs and indians. As If india is in such dire straits that you're suffering living here. Or maybe you're suffering....then find a solution for your problems.we desis are very happy as it is.

So go have fun. Who has stopped? Why get affected by a post that's not even directed at a desi like you who is living in India? 😆

I had replied but got some error...!@#$**@#

I am not an NRI lol. I do travel though on my own steam and yes there is brain drain in india because of the reservation system. Hold an Indian passport and live here 6 months a year minimum sometimes longer. Though I do admit I don't have to provide for anyone else so there's that.

Toilets are often short of water, many LPG recipients can’t afford refills and Mudra loans haven’t always created employment. But, across the country, you can see that these have reached people. As have the first instalments of the farmers’ direct benefit subsidy. For the really poor and far-out, this is a big change. So much that is visible and tangible has reached their hands, mostly without having to pay bribes. ThePrint’s Remya Nair and Manasi Phadke reportedrecently that 4.81 crore people had received Mudra loans totalling Rs 2.4 lakh crore. These schemes have touched far too many people in quick time to not matter to them

The Modi government has a much better record in building hard infrastructure — highways, ports, metros, bridges, other urban infrastructure — than UPA-2, and it is visible to the naked eye.

The most visible case study is the big infrastructure projects in Mumbai. The north-south metro, trans-harbour link, Navi Mumbai Airport and the coastal road were all planned by the UPA. All were denied one clearance or the other and blocked. Sad were the big, landmark bridges across the country, especially Assam. The BJP simply blew away the cobwebs, picked up the baton, and ran. This is working for it

Yes

Swach Bharat has achieved about 60% of what the ruling government claims it has achieved. Yet, at that 60%, it is much much more than what any government before this has done.

Same goes for infrastructure development, particularly roads. Sushma Swaraj all said and done, has done good work. Multiple BJP ministers have.

No Modi has not done anything radical, and to claim that he has is being stupid. But to claim he hasn't done anything except play propaganda politics is equally stupid.

Still spend 6 months a year in india minimum. Still why the shade on NRIs.....they don't even vote....

The shade is only for those who have given up their Indian citizenship and are clearly enjoying the rules of a different land while expecting that ALL Indians living in India should be happy with the current Government and whoever criticises is an anti-national, India hater deshdrohi while they are only exercising the right India and it's constitution has given to them. @red- EXACTLY! They don't even vote. So they should shut up and stop poking their nose into a country's politics that they have long given up upon and leave it to people who actually live there. It's just like how Soni Razdan is criticized for her statements on Kashmir despite having British citizenship. That's what I'm saying. You have voluntarily given up your citizenship for another country and with that have lost all the right to be involved with the politics of the country. It's as simple as that. If they genuinely believe in the current government, there are ample reasons and ways to come back to India and live under the current governance.

How much in your opinion Modi dominance is due to following factors. Can you put a percentage to each. I want to take opinion of a balanced person from India

1. Hatred of Congress, dynasty politics, italian heritage etc etc

2. Appeasement of Muslims, closet hatred of Muslims, insecurity due to Muslim rule in India

3. Pakistan and its effects. Only country specific not because of religion of Pakistanis

4. Economic model of gujrat / current performance / good economy

5. External script. Timing of attacks before elections like we have seen in other elections.

6. Less corruption compared to earlier

7. Religion card

Can you put a percentage to each out of 100? Add more if there are any or remove any factor or just give it 0 percentage. Above is my assessment. I think its a mix bag of all factors but I cant put a number to it since I am not Indian.

Note: Some of these things were mentioned in TIME article. But I hold the view as well.

None according to me.

First understand this. People of India are generally indifferent. They neither have passion nor hatred towards any particular party or community.

They might choose Congress for the state, if they like the projected leader at the region (Punjab/Rajasthan). They might not repeat it at the centre, if they are not confident of the projected face (Rahul) at the centre (India). More than party, leadership matters.

Same thing about hatred towards Muslims. They don't care who ruled in the past. (In the past too, Muslim rulers were able to rule, because of this indifference. People did not bother if their ruler was a Muslim or a Brahmin or shepherd caste. They had to pay their taxes anyway, irrespective of their kings. They rebelled only when they were imposed Jazia. That was during Tughlaq's and Aurangzeb' regime. Vijayanagar was a response to Tughlaq's rule. Maratha empire was a reply to Aurangzeb' rule, which finished Moghals). When people in those eras did not bother, why will current generation care? It is just the false supremacy in Muslims which makes these assumptions.

But agree with general notion of appeasement. Hindus will unite only when they feel others are appeased and they are being deprived. Otherwise, they are busy with infighting.

Will Pakistani people vote their government based on its policies towards India? Why do you think Indians vote differently? Everyone are occupied with their own problems to worry about others. I am not sure whether Balakot attacks had any impact on voters.

Economic reforms at macro level will not make impact, if it is not shown on grass root level. Earlier Vajpayee government fell despite reforms and no corruption. The reforms could not make impact with core base.

Main reasons for BJP/Modi's win are

1) There is no other leader (or 25 leaders) apart from Modi. Till yesterday people did not know, who will be the PM if BJP looses (now one does not bother. BJP won). During Congress rule, there was total anarchy. For every problem, leaders pointed it out as "coalition compulsion".

Today even if a dog dies on street, media asks "What is Modi doing?". Whether he does anything or not, there is someone to ask, someone to praise, someone to blame. This accountability is the biggest thing.

2) Corruption was not heard in Modi's government. May be it was present, but brushed under rug. But people trust Modi, as he does not have family.

3)Schemes. I realised their impact only in lrecent days (exit polls). Many things, we urban people take it for granted. I did not know the impact of toilets in rural areas (very similar to lpg gas connection during UP election, couple of years ago). More than the economic reforms (demonetisation, single GST rate), these schemes in rural areas get votes for BJP.

Hysteria is hilarious. I have seen idiots in real life who think Pulwama was BJP orchestrated while Balakot attack never happened, and it was all computers graphic.🤣 And that too a doctor, and his reasoning was that BJP will ban beef, hence he is against them.
