The symbolism of the broken glasses

Ever since Mishti has come out of the fire incident, her glasses have been broken/twisted. But she still insists on wearing them.

These glasses seem to symbolize her skewed perspective right now. The fact that she is looking at the world through broken glasses shows that she isn’t being able to perceive things clearly. Again and again, this is highlighted by the writers - the fact that Abir constantly keeps trying to repair the glasses for her, she thanks him for his efforts but the glasses still remain twisted despite his best efforts and so does her perspective🤷‍♀️ Lol

Precap seems to indicate that Abir has gifted her a new pair of glasses, which can possibly symbolize the fact that he is still striving to gift a new perspective to her. She delights in the gift but time will tell if she manages to gain perspective with the new glasses. Lol

Abir bhi kamaal hai. He’s walking around heartbroken but still finds time to buy her glasses? 😂

Great post! I was thinking the same too. They started to highlight Mishti’s glasses since friday and i couldnt help but think that just like her jhumka her glasses will help her bring closer to Abir. I have a strong feeling that after tomrrows episode, she might feel something towards him. Something more than a friend.

Haven't seen the episode. However, for him to notice that they are broken and then to give her a repaired pair. Voila. We are at the promo where Abir is trying to open her eyes

I can also see why Abir is now not sure if he should express his feelings. He feels that the pyar may be sahi but the feelings are galat 💔. What if mishti does not reciprocate? Imagine the mess then, says Abir to himself

Yes, the glasses deffo seem like they will play some part in bringing AM closer. Just read about the new SBS segment of Kunal trying to make Mishti get laser eye surgery 🙄😂. So I guess the symbolism will continue. Kunal wants to remove the glasses altogether while Abir wants to fix only the broken bits cuz the glasses are a part of her identity otherwise.

Mishti already does have feelings for Abir but her mind is wound up in the Kunal Rishta thanks to family pressure. But to your point, yes, she might start realizing those feelings more clearly in the coming days even as ceremonies happen with Kunal.

Yes, Abir will likely hesitate to confess because he feels Mishti may not reciprocate and that would just mess up the whole Rishta for Kunal too.

This is why he was trying to ask Kunal yesterday too if he loves Mishti, But Kunal brushed off the question flippantly. Seems like Abir may keep trying to figure out if Kunal and Mishti love each other and whether his own decision to back off is right for everyone 🤷‍♀️😂

I think members here write about Mishti's character and feelings a lot better than the writers of the show have managed (so far). I understand she is confused, there is too much pressure, annoying badi maa's emotional blackmailing and she is a very practical girl but its high time the writers show some introspection on her part. She does not have to fall in love with Abhir overnight but at least get her to think why this is not working with Kunal. If she does not have second thoughts after this laser surgery fiasco (even if it is for two minutes before badi maa brainwashes her), I will definitely throw a fit 😆

The writing is fundamentally bad for this Rishta Track. No one is introspecting correctly. Why did Abir also support it in the first place when he could see since the beginning that Kunal and Mishti are so different from each other? That it was so unfeeling to switch from Kuhu to Mishti like this? Still he went along with it 🤷‍♀️😂. So why expect any much sense from Mishti right now either? Haha

They are all robotic about it. Like the elders have decided something so they should just go along with it. Everyone was behaving like KM were already fiancé and fiancée despite a “courtship” going on. No one was behaving like there was a real choice here. Only the ILLUSION of a choice.

All that’s happening right now is Mishti going along with a choice made for her. Lol. The very premise was never that she will have some grand choice. Just that she will get to “evaluate” the choice in front of her. That is all she’s doing. Evaluation criteria is simply that Kunal not be like her father, that he saves her from problems and doesn’t abandon her 🤷‍♀️😂. So laser eye surgery will likely not shake much for her. They will constantly show her weighing the fact that he supposedly saved her life as greater than all this.

I think only if she is given some clear revelation of Abir being the only who really saved her and did all these things for her, that is when she will be jolted into facing her feelings. Until then she’s just going along with Kunal without any love involved. Lol

She seems so excited about Abir being in love 😂 without wondering why she doesn’t expect that from her own marital relationship 🤷‍♀️😂. Living vicariously through Abir maybe.
