Taapsee Paanu - seriously talented and overlooked

Watched Manmarziyan last night and was blown away by Taapsee's unhinged, natural, and raw performance as Rumi. The whole movie was great, with the music, and Vicky's acting as well, but man, Taapsee is a force. Everything from the accent, the hair, the aggression, was on point.

She was great in Pink, Badla, even a shiny role like Judwaa 2 which is out of her comfort, but she deserved a Best Actress nomination atleast for Manmarziyan.

I really think that talent like her is being purposefully overlooked by "movie mafias" like Kjo. She is a WAY better actor than Alia. Now I understand why she hasn't been invited to Koffee with Karan yet.

After watching Manmarziyan I would love to see her get more exposure, she hasn't worked with actors like Ranveer, Ranbir etc yet. Even her next movies like Game Over etc. are different.

Thoughts? Other actors like Taapsee that are finally getting a bit of their share?

as much as i cant stand alia, i honestly dont think Taapsee is that talented. shes average at best.

She is wonderful. Liked her in mulk, badla, pink, baby, manmarziyaan... Game over looks promising too.. such an awesome actress.

I definitely don't think she's a Vidya or Kangana.. but Taapsee has come a long way sticking to her guns and doing good work.

I was honestly looking for a good Hindi film to watch, and I tried to watch Kalank just because and couldn't even get through the first 10 minutes. Stumbled upon Manmarziyan and it was so refreshing. I think it would be interesting and honestly different to see her in more mainstream films, even a period drama.

Seriously over-rated she is. Like overrated to another level.

Overlooked in terms of what ? If she’s overlooked she wouldn’t have worked with the big names she has so far

Tapsee is good but she has been playing the role of those fiery and girl next door types again and again....very urban. So not sure if she will be able carry off other roles.

I guess same can be said about Alia as well. She did try a Kalank and the results are obvious 😔

Taapsee gets kicked out of big commercial films though, according to her, thats why she has to do these offbeat movies lol
