Link to her interview with Masand this week

She talks about it openly, how those big projects weren't coming to her so she decided to make the best of what she was getting. She doesn't have a godfather lobbying for her roles or sharing her song clips.

Her energy is so nice, her passion for acting is clear. She wants to do different types of roles, and she pursued Saandh ki Aankh a few years ago, because she wanted to do a 2-heroine film. Nice to see the comments section supporting her as well.

I find Tapsee alright! ... She comes off as someone who walks from one movie to another without much of a variance! ... You can tell it's Tapsee who's acting than seeing the character she tries to portray ... For me it's a "No" for now until she proves me wrong in future!

Seriously? She is average at best and feels as if she is meryl streep. Also her expressions are seriously repetitive. She was the weakest actor in badla, pink. Didnt watch rest of her movies

I think the appreciation she has gotten is in proportion to all the good work she has done.

Yes, I find Vidya better, but then , it isn't as if Tapsee has gotten some sort of excess praise or opportunities,( or awards like Vidya), has she? Yes, she might need to bring in more variations in her acting but, if she is completely out of her elements in a role, she will get caught and criticized (e.g.: Alia in Kalank) . Till then, she will get her due for job well done in the roles that she is doing.

We have so many actors who get awards despite playing portraying same kind of roles or playing roles the same way. We have so many actors who have the entire industry behind them to magnify one good performance as career defining, and propel that narrative over and over again till the award season comes.

People like Tapsee just have their work. No link up rumours to make herself more "interesting" . It took her years to get a solo interview with Anupama Chopra. She still won't have more airtime in award shows. Jitesh Pillai will give a Boney Kapoor the front row seats but not her.

Actors like her have to hustle all the time to be seen, heard and stay relevant, because they don't have a ready-made ecosystem waiting for them to make things easy.

Yup like Ranbir Kapoor who is a man-child in every single movie
