Lack of competition among heroines for 2019?

Say what you will, but Luka Chuppi didn't work because of Kriti. It worked because of Kartik Aryan( though I felt Kriti was better in the movie). Badla worked because of Big B. However, the truth is that Kriti, Taapsee, Bhumi, Yami etc. are still B grade actresses and not in the running. Who does that leave?

1. Anushka - She is still reeling after the flop Zero and does not have any films lined up.

2. Deepika - She doesn't have any films this year and though she is at the top, she has only Chapaak lined up.

3. Alia - Kalank was a disaster and she doesn't have any other films this year

4. Sonam/Kareena - they have promising films lined up

5.Shraddha - This might just be her year, but her limited acting skills makes it difficult to support her completely

6. Katrina - She has Bharat lined up, this might be the feather in her cap

7. Sonakshi/Parineeti - though good actresses, they lack the fanbase of say, Deepika or Alia.

So, who does that leave us with? Literally no-one

I’m looking forward to Priyanka and Zaira in The Sky Is Pink. It’s releasing October 11, 2019

Anushka will go Netflix show ways, I feel.

Kangana? She had Manikarnika- and 2 more movies that can do good.

Deepika has Chappak- this can be a great hit for her.

Parineeti has some movies. She also has potential.

PC and Zaira in October- that could become a huge hit.

Katrina- if Bharat is the way I think, her role will also get great reviews- Ali has given her a meaty role even in TZH.

Alia had GB - after Kalank, she'll forget to mention Kalank and mention only GB for this year- wait and see.

Then there's new talent like Shweta from The Tashkent Files and many others.

And there MANY, many nepo girls like Alia (Jhanvi, Sara, Ananya) trying to grab movies and get noticed..lol

I still wanna see Krithi opposite salman

I feel like you are undermining these actresses. it takes work to achieve a certain place and popularity, as well as fanbase. if deepika and alia are not in the running for best actress this year. why does that matter? they are not the only actresses, neither should they be expected to outperform everyone this year. yes they are currently popular..but popularity is and should be irrevelant when it comes to acting. and it is shortlived, especially for someone like alia who Imo should and have more actresses being compared to her and offered work besides her eventually.

among those you listed, my bets are on kangana, taapsee.

and taapsee is underrated, she should get her due. and she deserves the same fandom as well as being pitied against someone like alia. she is just as talented if not more.

.. all these ladies are working on films to be released in the next 12-18 months. The competition has never been healthier.

I feel like this year is going to change lots of dynamics.

Our Actors are all set but its time we had a shake up with the girls.

I hope this happens. bollywood is getting boring with the same people over and over again. its losing its credibility every year. the awards have even gotten worse, everything is forced and staged now days to help and publicize actresses/actors they want to see successful (mainly star kids/and industry insiders)
