When Guddan gave the watch to AJ today, I don't know why I remembered the movie Darr. Weird!!
In that also the couple had matching watches, when one pressed a button the second watch starts to beep.
What Guddan gave Akshat seems like the today's version of those watches with upgrade where the it works on heartbeat and send the location to the other.
The entire Angad track has clearly shaken Guddan up and she is scared for AJ and wants to be aware of AJ's location in case such a situation again occurs. This is what I think has made Guddan give that watch.
It may also happen that Angad is just doing fake drama and may again cause problems for Guddan and AJ and then the watches may come in handy. This was what happened in Darr where SRK kidnapped Juhi and told that Sunny died but the watch helped Juhi realize that he was still alive.
Let us see what the futur holds for both of them.
