I am just going to say it and get it out of the way that you and I are here for the same reason. So yay us!!! 😆 Brotherhood stories are my thing. My secondary reason however is my Mr Seikh.😳

As far as the show is concenred I have yet to catch up on all of the episodes but from what I have seen so far that the writers are tugging too many threads at the same time. There are multiple conflicts going on at the same time such as Abir and his mother, Mishthi and her father, Meenu and her brother, Mishti's father and Badi, the love-quadrangle, mishti-kuhu and thier mother to name a few. That is a lot of stuff they are building that they have to pay off which is making me a little nervous.

Lets see where this journey takes us.

@bold: Haha yes, the initial 5-6 epis did give that feel but I I think the show settled into it's core themes better round week 2. Week 1 felt kinda disjointed to me as well.

I'm not sure if TRP audience will show the kind of patience some of us are...these days ppl like simplified mindless plots...ki yeh hai majboor patni/bahu who's husband constantly berates but also romances her and yeh hai whole family that hates her and now she must fight for acceptance...aage peechhe nothing matters😆

Here, they are trying to tackle many things...abandoned children dealing with the scar of abandonment by their father, a manipulative mother and her complicated equation with her son, sisters who don't quite get along but aren't exactly villains either...lol...a nascent friendship/attraction with Abir-Mishti, a complicated alliance which will now raise questions about how a girl is considered a static doll with no feelings while others decide her destiny for her etc. etc...so yes, a lot is going on.

I suspect things will simplify once a shaadi track starts😆...there is Ketki's wedding coming up and on the side, the Kunal-Mishti rishta talks will start too.

Quite impressive post
And I totally agree.

For now it's a fresh breather. Hopefully it stays that way.

Yeah agree. There is a lot stuff here that is normally consideredbeing too senstive or taboo. Lots of emotions to sort through. I honestly at this point have mixed feelings for this show because as emotions are intense and complex, the characters compared to them lack of depth. But so far I am not bored.

Only time Shaadi simplifies things are in indian tv shows.

Bold: U mean enemies right?
Kuhu is def. one of the villains in Mishti's life.

The amount of effort they use for Abeer and Kuhu, they sideline the development of Mishti and Kunal. I know they r serious compared to the other two but they shud have some more character. They are closer to bland.

Anyway, I fully agree.
Abir and Mishti, along with Abir-Mishti are working magic on my screen.

Abir is a free spirit, and he isn't your typical flamboyant lad which makes his character so breezy. It is a very pleasant character and Shaheer is doing a fab job.
By far, his vibe with Kunal (who looks like a dream, ohmygosh) or even someone as aged as Nanu, holds my interest in the show.

Coming to Mishti, well Mishti is certainly rooted to her values and her fixation on the meaning of family is so uptight. The hurt that she carries, the feeling of being an outsider constantly reminding her of how she's with them but not one of them makes life hard for her and yet she refuses to surrender and become a wuss.

I absolutely love the older Maheshwaris'. That couple man, that understanding of parenthood, of love and of humanity. Vishambhar and Rajashri. I couldn't have adored them more. <3

Apart from how they're shaping up Kuhu (who, in all honesty is mean. She's got it all and yet all she can do is compare endlessly, making herself look so much more than just jealous/insecure of her sibling), and how they have completely ruined Shaurya-Varsha (and Varsha was a cutie pie), I am genuinely enjoying the show.

Oh, even Meenu (lowkey Koki Modi) too. She is manipulative and how I'd love to see the layers through her.

It is sweet that they r raising Mishti at this age when they need to relax and enjoy a bit. I think it is good for them as well since they lost their own daughter. They did good parenting compared to Kuhu's parents.

LOL yes, very true. Shaadi is considered the solution to all problems in TV land and to a large extent in actual Indian families too😆...which is why the characters in this show seem to be trying to push back against that by raising points like, "Shaadi is not the solution to all problems" as Kuhu did in Monday's epi or Abir pointing out that a girl's feelings are not even considered as she is casually approved or rejected like an object on sale.

No, I don't mean enemies. Kuhu is not Mishti's enemy or a full on villain character. She's a spoilt brat who says mean things but she doesn't seem like the plotting types so far as was apparent in Monday's epi when she regretted being rude to Mishti.

Mishti and Kuhu don't hate each other but they don't love each other like regular sisters either...they are somewhere in between feeling stuck with each other cuz of circumstances😆
