Its bound to be very tough to not trust your mother who has never given the slightest inclination of being evil... I can get that.. Which is why whether it is this or the hero in Meri zaat zara e benishan, I do sympathize with the guys too..

There is a huge difference between Asher of HS and Arfeen of MZZEBN. Arfeen was disgusting, he himself threw out his wife, Asher was not there when khirad was thrown out and he was told that khirad herself left, Arfeen re-married and made a baby after kicking out saba and saba was forced to marry a older man while Asher never married anyone, leave alone Sara who was borderline psychotic in his love and killed herself after he finally rejects him for the 100th time in his life. Asher and khirad had an arrange marriage so it was understood if they had trust issues and one did not trust the other but Arfeen and saba had a love marriage and Arfeen still believed that his wife was characterless which is only possible for someone with a lowlife like him.

Asher's dad's death and his mother's plotting was so much genuine and on the point that he was made to believe that he had faults that's why khirad left him, whereas Arfeen practically knew that saba had no reasons to betray him and instead just made her take an oath by touching the holy book and believed that she was characterless🄱

I was sickened and devastated to watch MZZEBN, i did not expect such a cruel story and that is why I always say that HS was a better show and Asher's character rises above the mediocre script and actually wins it at the end even though whatever he does to khirad was unfathomable. The last two episodes were just beautiful, I love Asher's monologue to his mother, that moment itself wins khirad's trust back.

Ya.. But I mean your mom says she saw the girl doing stuff with a guy.. She is known to be pious and truthful.. She is ready to swear on Holly Book.. It is highly and I mean highly highly unlikely that the guy will doubt his mother.. Heck, even the girl's parents don't believe her.. I can't fault the guy completely.. Should he have trusted her? Totally.. Do I understand him not trusting her.. yes too

She coming back for money for her daughter - definitely! Any mother would do the same.
She ending up with him at the end, No. She should not have reconciled.

The show was regressive but i still love it. My guilty pleasure

Asher was shown n the seed of doubts were inclined in his mind very thoughtfully n even after that he didn't want to throw out khirad, yet again he was Lied by his Mother. How could he have not believed her. Seeing your wife with some other guy n then seeing her leaving you, he was broken. I completely believe he should have trusted khirad but in reality if a man would be in his place I don't know if he would have trusted her or not. But the Fact that he was ready to accept Khirad before knowing that those all were planning n Khirad was Saint made me Forgive Him. His love n need for her was Pure. He would have wanted her back even if she cheated him. Yes, Khirad was wronged n I loved how she instantly didn't forgive him n needed tym n Asher didn't force her.

Her coming back for the money for hareem, yes definitely. Her reconciling, a big no. But then I wouldn't have wanted it any other way lol tho it would've been better if his redemption was shown a bit more and she shouldn't have given in that easily

Romantic Reveries

currently there was a drama : Aatish in which the fl returned to her husband and forgave his family for the sake of it. it was in bad taste. at least Khirad saved her daughter's life , and Asher was really repenting. it was all a cpnspiry..so one time crime could be forgiven .

Humsafar in my eyes, was the beginning of the regressive phase for Hum tv.
The reason the show was popular and is so staunchly defended are the pretty faces of Mahira and Fawad..
Story wise ,acting wise there is nothing exceptional or even well done about it...except the tv execs also relished how well they played madonna!Khirad against the wh**e!Sara and that was it. Modern woman bad, seedhi sadhi woman good.

Ugh, I have such strong feelings about this show and everything it represents.
