He loved his wife. He loved her enough to accept something as abnormal as magical relatives.
^^THIS! Omg never thought of this. Does this put Aunt Petunia and him on the same plate? She hated her sister and yet kept her son under her roof. Mr. Dursley hated Wizards and yet he let his wife keep Harry in the houseš²š²
Yes it does I suppose. Petunia hated her sister but still kept her son. But that could be a combination of what you said and fear for Dumbledore. In the Order of the Pheonix, Dumbledore's howler reminds Petunia of his letter and words. Petunia is a complex character.
Lol i never ever thought i would develop a new found respect for Mr. Dursley after so many years. To think of it, each time Harry got into trouble, he could have easily blamed his wife for her decision to keep her nephew but not once did he shout or pass any comment to his wife.
Yes, they were in it together. Like a team. I actually think he had this one redeeming quality.
Do you think it is possible that Petunia, in the privacy of her room, might have broken down and grieved her sister's death? JK Rowling has not described that scene. She has just mentioned that Petunia screamed but then nothing. So what do you think?
No. I do not think she cried. She was not a person who shed any tears no matter what. After getting rejected by Hogwarts or getting hit by Snape, as a child she did not cry. As an adult too we witnessed no crying, even when Dudley got demented. The only occasion i remember when she shed any tears was when she saw Dudley in the new uniformš
That's true.š
Dumbledore was and will remain a mysterious character for meš I am going to think about this and then pen it down. Dumbledore was the most complex character throughout the series. It was easy to understand Voldemort but not Dumbledore. He was a different kind of an intelligent person and truly a GREAT person! His loss was invaluable.
Dumbledor is like a maze, the deeper you go, the harder it is to get yourself out. You keep going deeper and deeper, hoping that you will reach the core, but... But this is a maze that I love to get lost in. š
