na main dekhoon gair ko, na tohe dekhan doon...
O my beloved, let me hide you in my eyes and shut my eyelids. So fierce in devotion that I cannot see others and let not others see you too.

Seldom, life brings you to someone who turns your life upside down. There are many people whom we meet in our lives, but only a few leave their mark. What's the reason for two people coming together despite every possible obstacle to block them from each other? Is it destiny or is it a force stronger than this?
Two people who shouldn't be together ended up sharing an unusual bond. A bond which had shades of extremes. A hate so mutual for each other and then a pull so strong towards each other.
Have we written them off yet?
As Boethius, The Consolation of Philosophy said-
"Who would give a law to lovers? Love is unto itself a higher law.
What laws guide people and refrain them from coming together?
Who are we to decide who should deserve whom?
The show began with two lives "Happy and "Rocky. Much like their names, their lives and temperament depicted strongly what was about to happen in future. A happy girl despite having a Rocky life and a Rocky boy despite having the happy love of his family. Slowly, they walked towards each other- A Rocky life slowly turning happy and a happy life slowly turning Rocky.
Through Rocky, we saw the misogyny and patriarchy that exists in the society, fuelled by values from like minded people in the family. And then, there was indeed a turning point.
I am sure many minds are astounded by the overnight transformation of a self centred brat like Rocky. But, strange is life and stranger are it's ways. Human psychology is complex and shocking incidents like the death of loved ones are enough to trigger an ultra emotional response. Sometimes, it takes incidents like these to jolt people into reality. A moment can change you forever and it's believable.
What happens to Rocky now is his Karma. His path to redemption has slowly yet steadily begun. It's a long way to go but still it's the path that's going to lead him to happiness. Whether this path will cross Happy's will now be a treat to watch.
For years, in Gul's shows, I have watched brooding tall, masculine men towering women spark chemistry. For once, I still pine for a change. I want the brattish, chatty and bubbly Non-Serious' lanky boy Rocky to hold hands with Happy and walk behind her. I still want the lost boy constantly demeaned by everyone to find love in a woman's heart who believed in him despite his flaws.
Rocky was loved, pampered by the family and his own father always considered him inadequate. An interesting mix baggage, Rocky feels alive to me as I have been constantly bored over the years watching washboard abs and spiked gel hairs in the name of heroes.
I still root for the rocky ride with Happy streaks. A woman who leads a man rather than repairing a broken hero is a refreshing change. Let Happy lead Rocky. Happy is definitely the one whom Rocky can look up to after Chintu. A love born out of devotion. A Rocky life turned Happy!
