I apologize if this doesn't belong to the Bollywood section.. but this is the only section of this forum I use.

I want to visit India. I want to get you guys take on what part I should visit.. since I am going to be staying there for a week.
What city.. or state since I want to do a few specific things..

I am Afghan American. I grew up in Pakistan.. it's also a country that I would never ever want to visit again. The way afghan refugees historically has been treated in Pakistan.. it has left a bad taste in my mouth. I don't think I would ever want to visit there..

But India can be a country that I can visit and have fun there. I am a big fan of Bollywood.. love Indian songs.. love Indian cricket team.. love the food.. and culture. Most of my friends are Indian. We get along very well together.

My plan is to attend an ipl match.. maybe meet a star or two.. and enjoy the food.. and sightseeing.

I am single.. I would like to visit parts that are for young mostly single folks.. maybe beach or two.. and plenty of partying..

Any suggestions would be appreciated

Thanks

Can't give you any recommendations as I am boring and just went to see Taj Mahal, and hill side areas when I went to visit family. But if you are a female be careful if you are alone. Watch for scams...I hope you have a friend or someone who knows the area so you are safe. Usually people are very friendly and be careful of eating and drinking at some places. If it looks questionable, avoid it. Hope that helps.

Safest bets. Both Mumbai and Goa are closeby. You can complete with a 10-12 hr drive or flight. Or if you want the local experience then by bus or train. But would not advice since it's terribly hot now so no good view of the ghat section. Atleast spend two to three days in Goa for proper nigjtlife experience. Don't waste time in the usual sightseeing stuff if you aren't one of those kind of tourists. Instead spend time at the shacks in beaches. Would recommend South Goa beaches over North Goa since they are cleaner and less crowded. Specifically Agonda beach. It's beautiful.

In Mumbai, you can explore South Mumbai for nightlife if you want to try old popular pubs like Leopold in Colaba or else you can try the newer hubs in Lower Parel and BKC, the famous being Social and Hitchki. Mumbai is anyways about nightlife. Just stick around either South Mumbai or Lower Parel or BKC or Veera Desai in Andheri West if you want to go club hopping.

Also some trains can be expensive for foreigners...I mean most things are...but the price wouldn't be worth the trip

Completely forgot to mention one thing:
AVOID ELECTIONs TIME.

Check election date when you visit a state. There might be party liquor music BAN. With a lot of other restrictions.

I visited Mumbai when I was a child😆😆

Though as someone mentioned before, Mumbai is all about night life. So, you will find something.
