You are absolutely right. There's a lot both the girls can learn from Mauli actually.
There was a point in time when even Mauli questioned her self worth, that moment when she wondered if Kunal would have stuck with her if she had cleared the misunderstanding around her pregnancy. What she didn't realise then was, even if he had, he would never have stopped loving Nandini. Kunal was not hers. She had to let him go. Him sacrificing his passion for the sake of a child would have kept him away from Nandini's love and Pari's birth. He had made a promise to Nandini on the first night that he would love her like he had never loved anyone before . He stuck to it and had a happy and fruitful marriage until she passed away.

Sorry I elaborated on this. Anyway, what I'm trying to say is, Mauli didn't behave maturely at times too. She was willing to take Kunal back even after he had cheated on her in such a horrible manner. She succumbed to her weakness. She had a fear too that love happened only once. Her concepts changed and she grew up in time.

Mishti is no different. She is holding on to a fear, and probably grudge too. She has to let go of that as she grows up. It is not that she doesn't like Veer. She likes him, respects him and thinks this is love. It could very well be, we really don't know how the story will go. So far, he has been a very understanding character and she probably sees a stable marriage like Mauhaan's with him. As far as she knows, neither Ishaan nor Mauli moved away from commitment and was together till the end. She must feel commitment is more important, since she and her mother were the casualties when someone decided to follow the lure of passion. She knew Mauli was torn between two guys and chose love and commitment in one package. That is precisely why she keeps throwing around the ILU at Veer. 😆 Such a contrast from Mauli who felt love had to be felt, not mouthed. She didn't feel the need to verbalise her feelings for Ishaan. She didn't have to confirm it in words, probably because she knew how empty ILU could be after suffering a major heartbreak with Kunal. It had to be conveyed in thoughts and actions and commitment for her.

Mishti has not reached her mother's level of maturity. She is still in teen mode, throwing those tantrums. She doesn't want complications in her life, she feels she deserves that after betrayal from her biological father. She just wants to live life in such a way, she doesn't want what happened to Maunal happen to her or her partner. She doesn't want anyone to harbour a heartbreak for six long years. She has found her own explanations and solutions, since no one talked with her about what went wrong with Maunal. Let us see how she handles this. We will see her grow.

I am trying to understand Mishti as a character but somehow her relationship with veer is very underdeveloped for me to understand why exactly is she marrying him?

She wants a happy family and she wants stability but if she is not happy with Veer, why she thinks that Veer can give her this stability? Is marriage really so important if you are so afraid of getting into it?

Kunal's wrongdoings have definitely affected her but what is the need to marry Veer?

Mishti is Mauli's daughter, Mauli is a woman who went to her work 2-3 days after she got to know about her husband cheating on her, even if Mishti thinks that Kunal cheated on Mauli because she couldn't give him time, isn't Mauli's life a living proof of Kunal not being THE ONE for her? More over didn't she witness happy marriage of Ishaan and Mauli? Mauli worked when she was married to Ishaan.

In the end of S1, Mauli did get her happy ending, I really am not able to fathom how Kunal's EMA is affecting Mishti so much.
I am not criticizing her and I do understand that she is afraid of being cheated on, but why is she sacrificing all this for Veer?

The thing she should understand is that if Veer is important to her then she has to communicate her feelings to him, she is hiding so many things from him, how is she thinking that her relationship will work if she puts up this charade of Mishti in front of Veer? Didn't Veer say that he won't stop Mishti from doing anything?

As a woman, it's completely Mishti's choice not to work after marriage but she shouldn't stop working if she doesn't want to.

Mishti is still unsure of her feelings for veer. Her attitude changes in front of him. She is not the same one who is with Pari, ansh, radhika and even ruhaan, when with veer. She wants to feel secured and thats the only logical reason I could see why she is marrying veer.

Now coming to why Mishti couldn't see Mauli's happy ending, we generally tend to remember bad memories more than the good ones subconsciously. That's human psychology. Everyone have their insecurities with something or the other and mishti's insecurity is that she might get cheated. She can't cheat either. That's what she said .she doesn't want to be at either the giving end or the receiving end.

It will be good if we get more of how Mishti and veer's relation developed rather than useless beer bottles making their entry every other scene, so we can understand the story better.
