Okay. Google shows Ranveer left the film in between in 2016 to do Shimit Amin's next which didn't happen and then Zoya went to Varun who didn't have dates. Then they cast Alia early 2017.

She did call Varun her frnd in Aap ki adalat & Komal nahta IV so one never knows😆

Even during that nepotism debate she said that she has no problem with Varun and how he is this sweet guy.

Varun even liked that video on insta where she was blasting bollywood people.

Varun was iklauta Dharma related person to praise Manikarnika on Twitter 😆 I remember Kangy saying on Komal IV how Varun took her passport to verify that she is in same age bracket as him😆 when they were travelling

But yeah dunno about the pairing coz Varun is way too non controversial offscreen😆
