So the saga of a Ishqbaazian wedding begins...
Weddings are child's play in the universe of 4 Lions even though the female leads espouses the virtues of the holy matrimony,the 'power of sindoor' and 'patni dharm'. PN is an old lady of the bygone generation but she is happy and willing to see her great grandson produce an XX chromosome carrying human like a magician taking out a rabbit from the hat for a wife! She does not bat an eye lid when the grandson declares that he will get married the next day! PN who was proud of the ishqbaaazee of her grandson just wants the tag of 'married' for her great grandson and is not even bothered whether the union is holy,out of love or just a business transaction!
About the siblings,the less said,the better.Both the sisters have 'upar ka malaa khaali' and just jump with giddy joy to hear that bro is getting married. Nobody notices the emptiness in Shivaansh's eyes or the lack of interest,true happiness in him! No wonder both have such partners-- one is married to a person who is the villain in their lives and the other loves a nincompoop without a spine! Of Ruvya's son Dhruv----- why was there any need of this character who has nothing to do but look lost and idiotic in the background? Even the chandelier of the Oberoi hall have better personality,screen presence,character and a story to tell than Dhruv.
The only person who appears to enjoy portraying his role is Zaan Khan as Varun. He us slowly catching up on the nuances of a fine villain who hides behind the facade of a well wisher/friend/family. His transition of expression of a happy face to a villainous facies was quite applaudable today while he was congratulating Shivaansh on his decision to get married to Sonya while at the same time hiding his chagrin. The storyline these days is such that I am rooting for the negative character!!!!!
Nakuul still appears disinterested in his role and the head tilting has become like an uncontrollable tic! And the more he imitates the Shah Rukh esque gestures,the more unreal and laughable he appears! Where is that intangible something which used to ignite the spark on screen and in the hearts of the feminine following like his previous appearances??
Niti did not have much to do today other than cry and hide behind a ghunghaat. I hope she gets to portray the subtle variations of helplessness,
horror,disgust,hurt,anger,love,
bereftness in the days to come. All the best to her. I have hopes for her and she is much better than the wooden ACP who by the way has disappeared again! Are we ever getting that story why she did the volte face and joined hands with Varun?
Now coming to some big bloopers.Harneet Singh you advised us to be positive as negativity never wins through the character of Shivaansh Singh Oberoi today. I am intelligent enough to understand what you wanted to convey and I hope that YOU are intelligent enough to understand what I/we want to convey. Mannat Kaur Khurana is eccentric enough to wear colourful hair bands as bracelets; the mehendiwali wore the same,was of same height and built,appeared out of nowhere and hid her face in a 10 foot long ghunghat and still that pin did not fall in place in Shivaansh's mind? I mean how dense can a person be! There have been so many security lapses in Oberoi Mansion and so many life threatening mishaps and still nothing doing about CCTV footages or being overtly cautious about new entrants? Only a day before Mannat was thrown out because she made the mistake of calling an unknown hair dresser for Radhika! And I get it that you want to portray Sonya as a brainless bimbo but writing the name of groom on the mehendiwali's hand just to test the look and feel of the mehendi design??! !!! Could you have not written a better script?? *eye roll*
Bride swap is happening followed by the darkest phase in the life of the protagonists. Truly speaking this phase of the story brings a lot of hype and TRPs if the plot is gripping and the viewers resort to biting the nails to know what happens next,how the heroine tackles the hero and the aftermath,and comes out stronger;
how the hero turns dark until he sees the light; but sadly in Dhinchaak Ishqbaaz,the plot has not reached that crescendo but the leads are pushed to get married. As they say 'sab cheez ka ek samay hota hain' and hurrying never helps. But still,I will look forward to how the story unfolds.
Gul Khan and Harneet Singh,I am willing to be patient (though my patience is really running thin these days) as a gesture for the good times that you had once given me through two of your iconic shows.Please don't disappoint me as you have been doing these last few months.
