Over at Khurana mansion, everyone was in the hall coversing, cracking jokes, laughing with one another, Sameera stayed back as no one wanted her to leave, dadima's sister savita had come over with her daughter in laws mehek and anu, the Khurana's disliked the two as they appeared to be show offs being related to the Khuranas, money. Status mattered to them dearly, which had led the Khuranas to instantly dislike their personality also the fact that the two daughter in laws considered Sameera to be lower than them. 

Savita- Maan bete shadi ki kab sochi hai

Dadi main abhi shadi nahi karna chahti

Heer- haan Dadi, veerji ab shadi nahi karna chahte woh jab 50 hojayenge na tab hi aapke liye bahu layenge hai na VEERJI

Haan main kya? Huh bataye na, pichle dho, dho (she pointed two fingers at him) saal se Dadima intezaar kar rahe hai ek badi bahu ke liye, aur aap inki iccha nahi pura kar sakte

Nahi karsakta teek hai

Kyun? Koi kharabi hai kya aap mein, she scanned him, Maan looked at her puzzled and angry, accha khaasa toh dikhte hai, khud ki business hai, ameer hai, izzatdaar wale hai, hazaar ladkiya fida hai aap par, toh un mein se ek chun lijiye aur Dadi ka kwaish pura kar dijiye. She tapped her index finger on her chin socha jaye toh aap toh ladkiyon par dyaan hi nahi dete, kahi aap dusre types toh nahi,

HEER. He barked at her, she laughed in his face and ran off, seeing him grab a cushion and throwing it at her direction,she laughed even louder irritating him as he missed.

Geet fed Pari then settled her in her crib downstairs, scared to even go up fearing what if he just appears infront of her, she heard the door bell once again, she didn't get up from her place, scared who could be on the other side, her phone rang, she picked it instantly

Arjun, jaldi ghar aao please woh wapas aaya hai, woh wapas agaya, mujhe bohot darr lag raha hai.

Geet main hoon Maan,

Sir aap? She asked shivering, Maan instantly knew something was wrong

Geet kya hua?

Ku kuch nahi, aap ne she heard the door bell ring continuously even Maan could hear

Geet mujhe bata sakti ho, darwaza kyun nahi kholte

She didn't respond, a stone was then thrown at her window with a note wrapped she screamed and dropped the phone, Maan instantly left towards her house, he knew she was alone, Arjun informed him in the morning, and had asked him to just make sure she was fine.

Geet picked Pari and ran upstairs, she sat in the corner, trying to call Arjun, then Arohi, none picked the phone, she cried terrified he's come to take her away, Pari stirred with the movements and started to whimper, Geet settled her and gave her, her feed to quieten her down. After sometime Pari slept, Geet was tired as well, but the ringing of the door bell stopped herself from sleeping, she had a headache from crying, she heard someone bash the door and heard the stamping of feet coming towards her room, she knew this was it, he was here to take her, she stood up and backed into the corner even futher and her eyes widened in surprise and relief, It was Maan.

Maan had reached her house, he rang the bell but getting no response, he had to break in, he looked at the stone that was thrown, picking it up, he opened the paper attached, he saw Geet and Pari's photo. And something scribbled- I'm coming to get you, I promise that I'm coming, but remember I wont let anyone between us, before it was your family now its that Arjun and Arohi, I'll see to it myself, these two are removed. If you DARE even try to run away like before, I wouldn't hesitate to kill you along with Pari. UNDERSTAND???

Maan was shocked, four people's lives were endangered by a psycho, he looked for Geet not finding her, he made his way up, popping his head in the passing bedroom then reached the second room, he opened the door and looked at the state Geet was in, she was shivering in the far corner of the room, he saw the fear in her eyes when he entered but that was soon changed to relief, she took a deep breath, tears cascaded down her cheeks, her sobs didn't stop, she thanked god silently to have sent Maan.

Geet, Maan called out to her quietly, walking towards her in small steps, he held out his hand, Geet hesitated then held his hand, Maan placed her on the bed. He hadn't a clue how to start and what to do, he knew he couldn't leave her here all by herself especially as no one was here, and four people's lives were in danger, weighing up all the solutions he decided to pick the one which was more appropriate, which was Geet moving into his place, he got out a luggage which was placed ontop of the wardrobe, digging into the drawers he grabbed handfuls of clothes and thrust them into the suitcase.

Yeh aap kya kar rahe hai?

Its not safe for you here, so you're coming with me

What? Aap kya keh rahe hai?

Maan didn't say anything, took the suitcase down and placed it in the car, with Geet following behind him.

Maan sir aap kuch bolte kyun nahi?

Dadima along with the women of Khurana mansion (heer/Nt/Sam) saw Maan pulling Geet with Pari in her arms, in by her elbow gently, dadima closed her eyes hoping he hadnt done anything stupid then her mind went to her sister and her daughter in laws (mehek/ anu), along with few other women, she silently prayed nothing goes wrong.

But unfortunately the women noticed, Dadi ma's sister savita walked over to see Maan bringing another woman who had a baby.

Savita- Maan bete yeh kaun hai? Jaha tak hume pata hai aap ki shadi nahi huyi

Mehek- shadi toh nahi huyi hai lekin yeh kaun hai? kahin aap ne koi...

Savita-nahi Maan aisa nahi hai, hum jaante hai, iss ladki ne shayad phas aya hai... iss jaise ladhkiyon ko acchi tarah pata hai, ameer ladkon ko phasate hai, Geet's eyes filled up, she hadnt come by her own will, she was brought.

Maan looked away to control his anger, turning his head once again- Geet ko main laya hoon

Savita- par kyun? aap ki rishte kya hai? Na aap ki shadi huyi hai, aur aap aise na jayez sambandh rak rahe ho, pata nahi isske Pariwar wale kaise honge, aur yeh baccha pata nahi kis ka khoon hai

Bas Dadi, jitna izzat hum dadima ko karte hai utna aap ko karte hai. Geet meri biwi hai, aur Pari meri hi beti samjhe aap loug, Geet looked at him shocked, along with the Khurana women

Savita- Maan hum bewaqoof nahi hai ke aap kahenge aur hum Maan jayenge, uske suhaag ke nishaniya kaha hai.

Maan held Geet's wrist and walked into the madir of Khurana mansion, he grabbed the wooden chair breaking into pieces. Geet gasped as he flicked a match and lit it, he grabbed her wrist and walked around the lit fire. Picking up the taal in his hand, he pinched the sindoor and filled her parting. Tears cascaded down her cheeks as it dawned on what he had just done.

Maan- Geet ke khilaf koi bhi bolega toh main kisi ko nahi chodhunga, uske har aansoo ke badla lunga, Ab yeh Geet Maan Singh Khurana hai, koi bhi chahe mere apne kyun na ho main badla lunga.

Chapter 8

Everyone in the hall knew Maan was serious, whilst Geet's eyes filled up, she was confused with todays events, everything happened so fast that she didn't have a clue what's going on, Maan guided Geet to his room, placing her on the bed, he walked to the window, he didn't intend to do any of this, Geet sat there motionless with Pari in her arms who played with her curls.

Geet, Maan called out, hearing no response, he walked towards the bed, sitting beside her, he tapped her shoulders, Geet broke out of her trance, she looked at Maan- aap ne yeh kya kiya?

Geet woh main pata nahi yeh sab kaise, Dadi aise hi halla macha rahi ti aur main...

Aap ko pata bhi hai aap ne kya kiya? Sindoor ka matlab jante bhi hai? iska matlab kya hai ek suhagan ke liye?

Geet mujhe nahi pata, aur na pata karna chahta hoon, bas main yahi janta hoon ke maine tumse shadi ki hai

Yeh shadi kaise Maan sakte hai, aap ko mere baare main kuch nahi pata, kuch nahi jaante mere baare main, aur na main aapke yahan rehna chahta hoon.

She got up, Maan held her wrist, Geet please, tumhare jaan ko khatra hai

I don't care, chodiye mere haat, she protested, his touch scared her, she snapped her hand.  

Maan closed his eyes, he needed Geet to stay here somehow- Geet tum yeh sab mat Maano, main tumhe ek alag kamra de doonga, but please mere baat Maano, yahan ruk jao, apne liye na sahi, Pari ke liye, Maan used her weakness against her.

Dadima knocked and entered- Maan bete

Maan gestured Dadima to come in, she had come to talk to Maan and know the reason of his sudden act as it cant have just been her sister who had provoked him, she followed and stopped outside the room, hearing their conversation.

Dadima Maan aap bahar jaiye, hume Geet se baat karni hai

Ji?

Jaiye Maan, hume baat karne dijiye, Maan left the room.

Dadima walked over to Geet, who felt highly uncomfortable, baitiye Geet

She nodded no- hum teek hai

Bete hum jaante hai, jo Maan ne kiya galat ta, lekin bete unke maqsad galat nahi ta, woh sirf aap ke aur Pari ko raksha karna chahte hai.

Geet knew what Dadima said was true, she was grateful on one side, but feared her new surroundings.

Bete hum nahi keh rahe hai aap Maan ko apnaye lekin unhe ek mouka de sakte haina

Geet looked at her confused, she had many questions running in her head.

Dadima understood her confusion- haan bete, hum aap ko Maan ke biwi Maante hai

Yeh...aap...aap

Bete ek baar kisi aurat ka Maang koi barde, toh woh aurat suhagan Maani jati hai, aur Maan ne aap ke Maang bardi hai, aur woh bhi kitne logoun ke saamne, shadi mat Maanye lekin aap hum sab ko ek mouka de sakte haina. Geet looked down, her eyes stung with tears, why were they doing this, she doesn't have anything to offer them, she was ill, she isn't normal like everyone, she has her own baggages, her own set of problems, why was Maan doing all this for her.

Dadima left hoping to gain a little trust from Geet.

Maan heard what Dadima said, he hugged and thanked her for trying to pacify Geet.

He entered his room, hoping Geet changed her mind, - kya hum kahin aur reh sakte hai?

Tum iss kamre main reh jao, main dusra karma main chala jaoonga

Main nahi chahti aap mere vaje se aur koi takleef utaye

Geet dusra kamra, woh hai, koi takleef nahi hoga, Geet looked at the door he pointed to, another room was adjoined. She merely nodded.

Kuch der araam kar lo, main nt aur heer se kehke tumhare saMaan set karwa doonga

Nahi, hum karlenge

Teek hai, Maan left to the next room, Geet thumped onto the bed, tears cascaded from her eyes, she wanted to talk to someone to soothe the inner turmoil, but first she needed to warn Arjun and Arohi, as their lives were in danger, she grabbed her phone and tried to call them numerous of times, having no other choice she called the hotel where they were staying at, and left a message for Arjun.

Her phone rang, she instantly dropped it with the sudden sound, picking it up, scared had He called again, she placed the phone near her ears, and sighed in relief hearing her father.

Papa she stuttered out with sobs choking her throat.

Geet kya hua puttar

Papa woh woh

Bata mujhe

Papa woh mujhe doondh liya

KYA?

Haan usne dhamki de raha ta

Par tujhe kaise paya

Pata nahi

Tu teek toh hai

Ji, she then explained the events that had taken place.

Mohinder was shocked to the core that his daughter along with his granddaughter was in danger, he was relieved to know that some Maan Singh Khurana had saved his daughter, he was speechless, not knowing what to say he kept quiet

Geet knew what his silence means, she bid hi bye and cut the call, not even hearing his response as she knew her father needed to digest all this news.

Maan on the other hand heard her conversation, his heart ached to know who's back, who is that person who had threatened Geet. He couldn't have asked her as she doesn't trust him properly, he was determined to catch the very culprit, he made a few calls, he wanted to let Geet know of his plans but wondered whether she would allow him to look into the matter.

Nt knocked on the door, Geet jerked her head towards the door, Maan walked into the room, going towards the door, he opened the door to find Nt stood there.

Haan nt?

Veerji, Dadima ne aapko aur bhabhi ko neeche bula rahe hai, khana kha ne.

Hmm tum jao, hum aate hai.

Nt turned to leave, when Maan called out to her.

Ji?

He passed the carrier bags which had Pari's foods in- yeh kitchen main set kar lena please

Ji veerji once nt left, Maan glanced at Geet.

Geet neeche chale

Mujhe kuch der akela rehna hai please

He nodded and left, Geet replayed all the events, she was hell confused what to do and what not to do, she didn't know whats right or wrong anymore, thinking deeper into the situation only made her tensed and scared, she needed to feed Pari then put her to sleep. She set Pari on the floor with a toy from her babybag then left to freshen up.

Dinner was done in silence today, saivita left with her daughter in laws after Maan had warned them before, Maan was worried, all he could think was about Geet and Pari, their lives in danger, he wondered who the man may be. He couldn't even take in the food knowing Geet hadn't ate, she must be hungry since it was a tiring day today.

Geet changed Pari and decided to come down, she walked down the stairs slowly, her eyes went to everyone sat in the dining room, none had noticed her, Geet looked at their faces, which seemed lost, and she felt guilty thinking she's the reason. Heer noticed her after a while

Heer- Arre bhabhi...aiye na, chaliye khana kha ne

Geet smiled weakly.- nahi... woh..mujhe

Geet bete boliye kya chahiye, gabraiye mat, yeh ab aap hi ka ghar hai

Woh mujhe Pari ko dinner khilana ta, kya uske dinner pot de sakte hai

Heer- chaliye bhabhi main aap ke liye garam karke deti hoon

Nahi bas dikha dijiye hum garam kardenge

Heer took Geet in the kitchen and showed her where Pari's dinner was kept. She warmed the food up though Geet protested she'll do it, Geet settled Pari in her arms and fed Pari her dinner.

Maan left the table not able to finish his food, Dadima watched helplessly, never had Maan skipped his meals whether he'd be so upset, he had never been so stressed, she sighed, she couldn't take the morsel in her mouth knowing Maan hadn't.

Geet went back to their room, after feeding Pari, she was hungry but couldn't gather herself to eat, she set Pari onto the bed and lay down beside her, soon sleep took over both mother and daughter... Maan sat in the study, trying his best to contact Arjun and Arohi, none of the two was available, Dadima entered the study, Maan put his phone away, Dadima came and sat on the couch, Maan went near her, kneeling on the floor, then rested his head on her lap, her hands ran through his hair soothing him.

Kya baat hai Maan? Aaj pehle baar aap ne khana chodh kar gaye?

Bhook nahi hai dadi

Hum aap ko acche tarah jaante hai

He sighed- mujhe ek ajeeb sa darr hai Dadima

Kyun bete?

Uske zindagi, Pari ke zindagi khatre main hai aur mujhe pata nahi ke yeh sab kaun kar raha hai...

Maan explained the events of which happened when he reached her house, the fear in Geet's eyes was something he couldn't explain, Dadima knew Maan will have win Geet's trust.

Bete aap ek nayi seere (step/ stair) se shuru kijye, pehle usse apne dost banaye, uska bharosa jeetiye. Usse yeh dilasa dijiye ke uske har ek kadam ke saat aap wahan honge uska saat dene, dheere dheere, Geet shayad apne darr ka saamna kar payegi kyun ki usse pata hoga ke aap uske saat honge. Maan hum yeh nahi kahenge ke yeh sab asaan hoga, yeh bhi ho sakta hai ke Geet aap se baat nahi kare, aap se jitna ho sake door rahe, lekin iska matlab yeh nahi ke aap haar Maan jayenge

Hmm, aur agar main Geet ka bharosa jeet nahi paaya toh

Toh kuch nahi, aap try karte rahenge jab woh aap se bharosa karegi, aur waise bhi yeh bohot maamuli si kaam hai, Maan Singh Khurana ke liye, Maan smiled faintly, when his Dadima said the last sentence in full attitude, encouraging him, he picked his head up and hugged her by the waist.

Thank you Dadima...

Bete it's ok... she broke away, cupping his chin with her hand making him look at her- Maan, the girl has probably gone through a lot, she needs love and support from us, like you said she's alone, and only has her daughter, you have to make sure to instill the first seed of trust in her, of making her believe that she has you and our family as well...okay

Hmm,

She pecked his forehead...- now come on, I'm famished

You haven't ate yet..

Have I ever ate without you

He sighed- ok I'm coming

Bete you go and sit, I'll call Geet, hmm?

He nodded an ok and walked to dining room, Dadima got up, she told nakul to reheat the food for them, Dadima walked into their room, she saw how Geet had cuddled Pari in her arms as if protecting her, she smiled gently, Dadima sat beside her and soflty caressed her face, tenderly waking her up, Geet stireed then opened her eyes, she looked at dadi in surprise.

Araam se bete, Dadima told her as she tried to get up in a jerk, nearly waking up Pari.

Geet sat up, setting Pari properly, ji aap?

Bete khana kha ne ajaye

Mujhe bhook nahi hai

Lekin mujhe toh hai

Ji

Hum kisi ko bhooke rehna pasand nahi, isi liye jab tak aap nahi khayenge hum bhi nahi khayenge

Dadima, sorry maam,

Teek hai, lekin pehle khana kha ne chaliye

Ji... main fresh ho kar ata hoon

Dadima left the room, whilst Geet went to freshen up, as Geet came out, she placed pillows near Pari to make sure she doesn't wake up and topple off the bed... just then someone had knocked

Geet opened the door only to find Sameera standing there.

Geet- ji

Bhabhi Dadima ne bheja hai, jab tak aap khaye main Pari ko dyaan raku

Geet nodded an ok- Pari so rahi hai, agar woh utt jaye mujhe bhula lijiye

Ji, Geet walked down reluctantly, she went and sat at the table, Maan and Dadima waited for her to come, as she sat, Dadima served her

Dadima main le lungi, aap please kha lijiye

Hum kha lenge, pehle aap khaye

Please, aap humare liye takleef mat utaye hume accha nahi lage ga

Teek hai bete, the trio ate in silence, Geet ate ever so slowly, Maan had already finished, Sam came down with Pari whipering in her arms, Geet was about to get up

Maan- Geet tum khana kha lo pehle, main Pari ko dekhta hoon

Par

Dadima- Geet Maan sahi keh rahe hai, aise khane se utt kar jana teek nahi hai bete, Geet continued eating, trying to eat fast to get to Pari,

Maan took Pari, playing with her, he lifted her into the air then caught her, making her giggle endlessly, whilst eating, Geet had heard Pari giggle an instant smile crossed her face, finally she had finished, she quickly washed her hands and walked towards the hall where Pari's laughter echoed from.

She stood at the entrance, looking at Maan bonding with Pari, he tickled Pari's stomach making her laugh louder, Pari saw Geet, then stretched her arms for Geet, clapping mama... ma..ma... she babbled in her cute voice, Geet walked over and took her from Maan gently, giving Maan a faint smile, to which he reciprocated back. Dadima had just entered the room, Geet was about to leave, when Dadima called her.

Todhi der yaha humare saat betiye, Geet looked hesitant, as most of them were in the hall, she didn't wanted to be crowded.

She tried to form a sentence but her voice seemed to give up

Maan intervened seeing her fumble- Geet koi baat nahi, jaa ke araam kar lo

She nodded and left, Dadima knew with Geet they'd have to take extra small steps to gain her trust, but was happy on one side that Geet had ate atleast.

Pari had slept, Geet leaned on the bedrest recalling the day, she had never even dreamt of such events to take place in a day, turning her life around, whether it was for the good or bad she didn't know but one thing she knew was her life would never be the same again.

Her thoughts drifted to Arjun and Arohi, she tried to call them again, but it still came unavailable, she feared had HE done something to both, as only she knew what he was capable of, her thoughts went back to the days when he entered and ruined her entire life.

She picked her phone up and called their phones once again, after a few rings, Arjun picked up

Arjun main hoon Geet

Geet? Tumne iss waqt kyun phone kiye?

Woh tum dono teek ho na?

Haan par tujhe kya hua?

She knew if she said anything, both will rush back.- nahi kuch nahi, bas aisi hi pooch rahi ti

Main tujhe aache se jaanti hoon... Geet bata kya baat hai, warna hum dono abhi nikal rahe hai

Nahi.. aisa mat karna

Toh phir batao

Woh wapas agaya hai

Kya?

Haan, she then explained everything, from the flowers to the threat to Maan coming and saving her then the sudden marriage.

Arjun was somewhat glad that Maan had saved her, but he was somewhere worried what if Maan disowns her later, what if he doesn't accept Pari later, so many thoughts went through him.

Arjun bid bye after questioning Geet 101 million times, Geet assured him she was fine though she was more worried about their safety rather than hers.

She cut the call and put the phone on the side, just then Maan entered. She straightened her body posture and looked at him, giving a polite smile, Maan walked over slowly towards her, which increased her heart rate hesitating a little with him advancing towards her. He stopped and  sat near the edge, Geet was somewhat confused.

I know what happened today is confusing and complicated, believe me Geet, it's confusing for me too. And I also know it will take time for you to digest the fact that we're married now, but I really meant what I said before whether you accept me as your husband or not, I don't care but for me, since I filled your forehead, I accepted you as my wife and Pari as my own daughter.

Geet looked away, her heart refusing to believe his words, due to her dreadful past.. HE also said he loved her, will take care of her, if he really did, would he have forced her, would he have destroyed her.

Geet Maan called her name softly seeing her lost in her thoughts.

She turned to face him.

You won't accept me as your husband but can we atleast be friends.. I promise never to interfere in your space.

He held out his hand for a handshake, Geet hesitantly moved her hand forward and shook his hands.

He smiled at her, he thanked Dadima mentally for giving him the idea of offering his friendship, Geet reciprocated the smile, Maan then bid good night and left to the adjacent room, he thumped onto the bed happily that finally his relation with Geet is going somewhere, maybe not as lovers, but as friends is better than strangers.

That night he slept happily, dreaming of Geet and only Geet, she will be perfect as his humsafar, but will he be able to stand by her side when all odds will be against her. As HE will return for his Geet no matter what...
