Sonam is an inconsistent performer. There are moments when she is outstanding. But there are other moments where she is lackluster and hammy. Sometimes it can be in the same movie within scenes. Sonam needs a director who can coax out the talent. IMO Sonam is Bollywood's Kristen Stewart.

Both are an acquired taste. Kangana's abrasive personality and Sonam's self-righteous hypocrisy make them unpalatable to people. And sometimes when you have such polarizing personalities it can make it difficult for people to like you even when you deliver.

I personally don't have a problem with their accent or diction. But I can see why people do. Many western actors hire coaches to master various accents and talking styles. Actors have been hilariously trolled for bad accents or lauded for perfect accents.
