This is such a no brainer. 😆 Let me construct the bits and pieces from both their interviews. Krish shot the movie like Baahubali giving importance to everyone which is why Sonu says he shot for 45 days. When the end product happened Kangana felt that it more of a historical movie than biographical which is alright. The movie didnt match her vision so she took reins. Now the others too had a vision like Sonu about their characters and once sidelined he didn't wanna compromise. On top of that scheduling and continuity problems with Simmba. So he opted out. Kangana saying its because she was a woman is her playing the woman card again anytime someone disagrees with her.

I dont find anything wrong in either of their POVs. Its the producers prerogative how they want a movie to shape up and the actors prerogative if they want to do a changed script. I wonder if Sonu had to return the money. He shouldn't have to though. The producers wasted his time. Anyway, he won either way. Simmba was good for him.

but you are right, as Sonu mentioned it right during the release time. Kangna will use it to play her victim card and promote Manikarnika...

Another thing i just realized is that though Kangna has taken over as the director no-one knows how much portion she re-shot and how much was original... what is she uses most of shots from Krish, just re-shoot a few things and easily takes the credit of being the director ? It has happened in vfx field before...I was working on this project and my studio had finished most of the assets (vfx work) but then there was a conflict with the production house, so then some other studio took over... later when i saw the movie, they did use a few things which i worked on, but of course I cannot show it as my work, since my studio was no longer the vendor for the said movie...

Must be exciting working in vfx though...that is unethical I feel taking credit for someone else's work ... I always wait for any tidbits you post from your work here. :)

You can rest assured that Kangana will definitely take credit for Krrish' work also. I dont watch any IVs but somehow watched that Kangana IV with Masand that was posted here because people were like it's a good IV. And in fact she mentioned there that she will take all the credit. And that her producers and Prasson Joshi had encouraged her to take credit...that's what she said...if its true or not...I dont know.

it is exciting, ofcourse also cause I love it 😆 this happens quite a few times when a colleague puts your scene in their portfolio... but that is small level, so you can also add, and say that we both shared it... but when the whole studio changes, then there is no guarantee... on screen you see it and you know its your work, but your studio isn't credited so how can you lay your claim...

same will happen with Manikarnika... Sonu said what Krish did was something phenomenal... but later he saw some of his good shots missing at the edit table... so now how will we know which portion was done by Krish and which one was done by Kangna... knowing her, she might have done some patch-work yet lay claim to the whole movie, as you said...

Till now both are credited in the promotional videos... but if it was Kangana who changed the focus of the film, she can take credit for the way the film concentrates on her role more than on history.

I think, Sonu did the right thing being loyal to the initial work and not compromising the actual work for Simmba only to see his role being reduced to almost nothing. And maybe, he indeed didn't want to be directed by Kangana, not because she's a woman but because of her character or the way to behave/direct which he wasn't comfortable with.

We'll see the outcome next week.
