Priyanka didn't really have a registry, it was just to show how Amazon can be used to create a registry... Oprah and many other celebrities did it as well. Proceeds from Priyanka's wedding went to UNICEF

I've been going to some weddings where people are like no boxed gifts , so everything is money or gift cards which is awesome .. imagine getting something you don't like lol
