I doubt its either of these things because it is a big deal to the fans and they know it. Its possible they have something else in mind for it. It would have been too predictable for Naina to wear it during sagai. Also there is a ritual to wear new saree gifted by sasural wale for your roka or something. So I am hoping they are possibly going to use it for something else. Hopefully, cvs don't break my trust.

Writers cannot forget such a symbolic gesture..they can give us a convo between Naina and preeti or Samaina on why she cannot wear Nani's saree during engagement..

Maybe Naina will wear during the Grihapravesh rasam after marriage.. Naina in nani's saree when she enters her sasural..

Its considered apshagun to wear old outfits for engagements or weddings.A bride has a right to wear new clothes on her special day. And I am happy it's not the cliche route of nani dadi saree thing but a proper new saree. Come on she can wear nani's saree sometime later.

Its too bollywoodish to wear nani's saree here.too filmy.
