ALR has always been bad to mediocre

People overhyped him after he signed zero but I always found him mediocre at best.

People don't even know about his first two movies because they were disasters. They think ranjhana or twm is his first movie but it's not

2) thodi life thoda magic

even ranjhana looked like 2 separate movies before and after interval

twm worked mostly because of kangana specially part 2

now people are complaining that zero looks like 2 separate movies well no shit 😆

The way this guy was getting praised, was like he's the best director or something

I see the same with karthik, let his luka chupi release and flop and we'll see how many praise him then

pkp, sonu worked because of the script and director. He was nothing great. I don't know how he acts outside of these movies because he hasn't done any

Tanu Weds Manu 2 was a really good movie

His specialty is the rustic heartland movies. Zero was about NASA and superstars and scientists. They don't fit into ALR's Meerut. It is difficult to buy Aafiya and Babita indulging in that nonsense with Bauua.

Almost every director has made bad/less known films. Bhansali had a flop phase from 2005 to 2010 and used to be badly mocked back then. Only now that he has found hits with padnmavat, bm etc etc...people are clubbing him in the other thread with raju hirani, as if he has never delivered flops in his life.

No not only because of kangana but part 2 mostly was praised because of datto

It's not about flops but his 2 movies are b grade and disasters

Out of 6, 3 are really bad

The other 3, 2 are a franchise and even those are nothing great

except twmr, the other two are just hits and that too because of low budget

Even bhansalis khamoshi was praised, so was black

only guzarish and saawarya were bad and boring

he's nothing great either imo but still most of his movies are watchable and has its own audience specially with period films

ALR's 3 films out of 6 have been successes and are very much liked by a certain set of audience ... that's the bottom line.. no-one really looks into whether they were low budget hits or megabudget blockbusters.

Yes... He was ainvayi overhyped when he signed srk... but that's how fan and media culture work.

I know because I'm a filmy keeda, most aren't. I also know about other b grade movies and I know when I see one

People do care about how big a hit it is. It matters

Dum laga ke haisha is also a hit with 30cr doesn't mean if the director gives 30cr hits will be praised to skies and called the best director

certain section is exactly just that but there are many more directors with good work who don't get their due.

3 low budget movies which are just hits because of the budget and twmr because of the franchise doesn't cut it

and it doesn't make him a good director either

That's why I said he's mediocre because everyone was praising him. I was about to make this thread way before release but decided to wait.

As you said I'm not srk fan so why would I make any excuses? It is srks fault for signing this shit and most likely changing script to suit his image or whatever but that doesn't mean alr isn't at fault

Who made the movie? Srk or alr? who wrote the script? the shitty movie was made by alr and if srk interfered than again alr fault for allowing srk

But he did the same in ranjhana, making two movies in one 😆
