As you said I'm not srk fan so why would I make any excuses? It is srks fault for signing this shit and most likely changing script to suit his image or whatever but that doesn't mean alr isn't at fault

Who made the movie? Srk or alr? who wrote the script? the shitty movie was made by alr and if srk interfered than again alr fault for allowing srk

But he did the same in ranjhana, making two movies in one 😆

then every movie is the fault of a Directors if an actor can't carry forward the vision of a director then who be at fault? Lets not excuse the "icons" of cinema and dump the blame on directors

Haha what vision? Actors job is to act, stars job is to bring people to the theater. Film being bad is not on the actor but the director, writer, editor.

They make the movie not the actor.

If a film is bad it's because of poor script and direction.

If direction is top notch along with writing and actors act poorly and ruin the movie then you can blame the actors and even then one can argue why were they cast or miscast for their roles by directors?

we're not talking about just the film failing but poorly made.

by your logic toh flopped because of aamir and not victor

You're just hating on srk

Only now that he has found hits with padnmavat, bm etc etc...people are clubbing him in the other thread with raju hirani, as if he has never delivered flops in his life.

And in no way are twm series films hits only because of Kangana.😆

Exactly. Everyone is capable of good and bad. Ashutosh Gowarikar made Lagaan and Swades but he also made utter trash like What's Your Rashee, Khele Jee Jaan se, and Mohenjo Daro and those came after the good ones.

Anuraj Kashyap made one of the greatest movies with Black Friday and also made utter crap Bombay Velvet.

Aditya Chopra made DDLJ and also made Befikre.

Problem with Anand Rai is that he's only made small movies so far. All these directors go crazy and lose their mind when they get big budgets and big stars. Or maybe it's that their stories and ideas are also only for a smaller amount of people, not the big mainstream stuff that you have to do with big stars because you have to please a lot more people.

Stree and Andhadhun are hits but to become hits they don't have to please that many people. If those movies had big stars, they would have been criticized for every little thing, plot holes would be found, negativity would be spread, and those numbers wouldn't look good for big actors.

ALR has been lucky to have had worked with amazing actors in most of his films, who rose above the shoddy scripts. They made the story believable, even as you could see the flaws in the script. Be it Dhanush in Ranjanaa, Kangana in TWM, Ayushman in Shubh Mangal Sawdhaan, Swara in Nil Batte Sannata.
So yes, ALR has always been bad to mediocre and cannot take the sole credit for his successes.
