Sumi has been practical and logical in all her dealings. She reprimands her children when they are wrong, she consoles them when they are hurt. She considers her bahus as her daughters. Sumitra Sehgal has donned many avatars - all goody good ones.
In all probability she will be trying to finish off not only Mahir but Vikrant too, since Vik seems more like a liability now. He hasn't done a single thing right that his mom has asked him to do.
A loving mother to Mahir-Yuvi-Kuhu
A caring step mother to Adi-Pratham
A devoted and faithful wife to the unfaithful Andy
A guardian to rest of the boy gang and Anu
A loving MIL to Bela and Vish
A daughter to her mother (who is yet to make an appearance)
Now if she is the purple naagin, then where does that make her- a cunning manipulative woman, who has the patience and intelligence and skills to achieve what she wanted.
A lot of her earlier actions make sense - frequently sending Bela-Mahir outside to deserted placed so that Bela gets a chance to kill Mahir.
