In a bizarre move, the makers of Simmba, that stars Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan as the lead pair, have opened advance bookings for the film more than three weeks ahead of its release in the theaters.

In what can be termed a bizarre promotional strategy, the makers of Simmba have opened advance bookings for the film more than three weeks ahead of its release in the theaters. Simmba Movie Voucher is now available on online movie and event's ticketing website BookMyShow. The website is not only giving Rs 50 off' on each voucher but the buyers would also stand a chance to meet the stars of Simmba, Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan. The movie voucher can be redeemed once bookings for the film open.

Ranveer shared the news with his fans on his Twitter account. His post read, "Peeps! You can now book tickets in advance on @bookmyshow for #Simmba ! AALA RE AALA ...

The official trailer of Simmba, which is loosely based on the 2015 Telugu hit Temper, dropped online yesterday, that has garnered praise from several quarters. While Ranveer, as corrupt cop Sangram Bhalerao, is a total charmer, Sara is refreshing. Sonu Sood, who plays the villain, also manages to make a mark.

Simmba, directed by Rohit Shetty and produced by Dharma Productions and Rohit Shetty Picturez, is presented by Reliance Entertainment. The film is slated to release on December 28. This is one week after the release of the Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif-starrer Zero. The Aanand L Rai directorial's semi-clash with Simmba might end up harming business of both the films, film trade analysts have predicted.

I think they want to secure screens and presence vs Zero but fact ye hai ki jahan advance ka chance hai uss crowd ke liye trailer wasnt good enough and jahan trailer will work single screens bc centres wahan abhi koi book na karega!

They are just trying to play games with Zero makers!

The movie doesn't look like hit material to me. It's the same old 90s story. The audience is moving on now. They should not have chosen to clash with Zero

i dont see anything wrong in this, its just a way to sell tickets, at the end of the day people will watch watever movie they want

some producers increase the ticket prices just so their movies make more money, here kjo has put a discount on the tickets and a chance to meet the cast, i think its a pretty good deal

and zero will make lots of money, fans of zero shud not worry about the film, its going to be a hit

Nothing wring with it, everyone wants their own films to work. And they will do whatever it takes to try to make sure that happens, to the best of their capacity.
