Akki - Chopra war!! - An article

Akshay Kumar is playing the main lead in the film and had even sported a distinctive look with cropped hair as per requirement of the film during its shooting in Ladakh, which hampered the shooting of other films. But the creative team of Yash Raj Films has forgotten all this and is preparing promos focusing on Saif-Kareena, who also star in the film.

The Chopras want to cash in on the hot love story of Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor, who have been constantly in the news for some time now. According to sources, the promos will feature the two lovers in full glory while the presence of Akshay Kumar will be almost negligible. Earlier, Akki was to be the star campaigner and promoter of the film but something went drastically wrong and the Chopras decided to act in a partisan manner.

The buzz doing the rounds in the industry is that Akshay Kumar had recently turned down a movie offer from the Chopras even after Aditya Chopra personally narrated the story to him. The Chopras are not used to this type of snub from bollywood stars and chopping the presence of macho star from the promos of upcoming flick was a way of getting back at him.

In fact, Aditya Chopra was so impressed with the work of Akshay Kumar in 'Tashan' that he wanted the actor to feature in another Yash Raj project, but Akki was not so convinced about the story line and hence declined the offer. But Adi took it as arrogance and ungratefulness on the part of Akki. Aditya thinks that Akki owes his success to Yash Raj Films, whch helped him change his image through 'Dil To Pagal Hai'. If for nothing else, Adi wanted him to say yes for the old times sake, but nothing worked with Akki.

Yash Raj banner is one of the most powerful banners of the bollywood and even biggies like Shah Rukh Khan dare not deny working with them despite of not getting full market price from them. As far as lesser actors go, they feel honored if they could get even a bit role in the prestigious banner which regularly churns out big hits at the box office. But fortunately for Akshay Kumar, most of his successful films have been from outside the famous banner like 'Namastey London', 'Bhool Bhulaiya', 'Heyy Babyy' etc.

It may be recalled that Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor , who are getting pride of place in the promos of upcoming 'Tashan', had come close to each other during the making of this film. it was during the Ladakh spell of this film that Kareena and Saif were seen enjoying themselves together for the first time and now even Yash Raj is exploiting their love to promote its film.

Hmm….hmm…seems Saif-Kareena love story is helping several people(of course, not Akki) in several ways, what say??
