The nullification of Prerna

During her previous serial, I once saw an interview of Erica's dad in which he said that she was a lot like the character she was playing. She had helped family when her father could no longer work due to an injury and taken on all the responsibilities of her home by working from a relatively young age. Erica also said that she likes to play women like herself who are strong and independent. She is also so sweet to all her co-stars, loves cooking, painting, singing, make-up etc. I am bringing this to show that being independent and in charge of your own life does not make you any less feminine or womanly. And Erica the actress is a living example of that.

When prerna initially took the decision to marry Naveen Babu I didn't like it but I was willing to accept that this is what she felt was right. But her character has been reduced to doing almost nothing other than protecting Anurag and waiting for moments with him. Anurag is basically taking on the active role of protecting Prerna. Balaji doesn't need to do this. They can make Prerna a WOMAN who is soft and caring and loving as well as independent and hardcore. And they don't need to look far for that. They can look at their lead actress herself...

I start every Monday wanting more from Prerna and after 5 days of few lollipop moments, I am left on Friday with a feeling of being betrayed.

Prerna is just used as a dancing prop or for the stare game with Anurag .
I'm so fed up ! Even Erica must be frustrated seeing the characterisation of Prerna . Sharma family is just meant for standing in never ending functions . The neglect towards them is so damn high and it's frustrating to see Erica's talent so under-utilised.

I know exactly where u r coming from but we are still in the initial days of KZK where we have a young, naive and impulsive girl who's family has always been there for her..

She hasnt got a clue what the real world is like..

Her actions proved how naive she is, I mean any girl of this generation would discuss it with someone at least.. dont knw who!!

Prerna is in the process of becoming independent and strong.. the only person who can bring that out of her is Anurag... she will be angry with herself after she found out about naveen's truth but she wont be hurt..

Ekta did say in one of the interviews that the role will reverse in the future.. there will be a change in character..

We just hav to trust Erica for having faith in this project..0

True,Prerna is utter clueless now.Even Shivani is shown having more sense than her.whats with her walking like a zombie towards the window.Also,what's with the Basu women being so rude,unnecessarily, especially Nivi.Ieanrich people are not so deliberately rude,they might be indifferent bit not so focused in showing their snootiness.Prerna is just shown as a dumb,bheegi billi.

I agree. You've said it all. I'm not expecting them to sketch another Sonakshi Bose. That honestly won't happen. Dr.Bose was a dynamite- chirpy, free-spirited and yet incredibly strong and mature. Such brilliant characters are very rare and aren't written everyday.

It's so sad she chose this show. The writing is lame. Her character no better than a side one. It's frustrating to be waiting for her to appear on screen for more than five minutes. And those five minutes either are with Anurag pulling her, pinning her and stuff. Or it is with her reflecting over Anurag. Give the girl her own arch! For GOD'S sake. I am sick of this.

Agreed. The makers need to realize it's her story too. Infact I'm tired of seeing Anurag and Navin. She's merely reduced to an arm candy in the show.

I think we will get a strong Prerna when Komolika is in the scene. Just like we are getting Anurag-Naveen confrontation, we might get Prerna-Komolika confrontation. And after Bajaj, Anurag might be the one who will get 5 min of screen time! 😉😆
