According to a Bollywood Hungama report, the film directed by directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, only reaped rewards for sub-distributors of YRF Films who distributed the film on commission basis,' thanks to the Minimum Guarantee deal, that hedged their risks. The losses in turn were reportedly passed on to the exhibitors, who have lost about 50 to 60 per cent of their investments. The portal reports that the losses incurred by them in this case are even higher than those of Tubelight. But Salman Khan compensated the distributors.

Even the producers have ostensibly lost a significant amount and all eyes are now on the China release. "We plan to approach our territory distributors to claim refund because we know that they have made ample monies from this film due to the minimum guarantee contracts. We hope our message reaches out to Aamir Khan and YRF, who will help us get back our money from the territory distributors, a trade source told the aforementioned portal, after it reached out to exhibitors.

People here in IF are perfect examples of armchair experts. That some BO guy who used to copy paste BOI articles and thought himself to be numbers god.

Do you guys even know what sorts of deal happen behind the back? Do you even know there is a thing called zubaani guarantee? Do you even know how the movies are packaged and sold?

No one in right mind would exhibit movies like Loveratri, mitron, etc. But they do make their way into single screens due to packaged deals.

The reason why they get refund for movies like Tubelight is because of certain unwritten commitments. If they dont provide a refund then no one would trust them the next time.

It is a business and no one is stupid here. Not the exhibitors, nor the distributors. The only people who are idiots is the filmmakers and actors who take audience for granted.

Thugs of Hindostan box office collection Day 14: Aamir-Amitabh starrer struggles to cross Rs 150 crore mark

Thugs of Hindostan box office collection Day 14: Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan starrer Thugs of Hindostan continues to show a dip in its box office collection.

Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan starrer Thugs of Hindostan continues to show a dip in its box office collection. The film managed to earn only Rs 60 lakh on its Day 13, taking the total to Rs 147.30 crore, according to Bollywood Hungama. The Vijay Krishna Acharya directorial, which hit screens on Diwali, has not been able to mint money despite being the solo festive release.

In fact, Trade analyst Taran Adarsh had recently tweeted, "#ThugsOfHindostan went further downhill in Weekend 2.

He also shared how in the overseas market the film is lagging behind Aayushmann Khurrana's Badhaai Ho.

In a tweet, Taran Adarsh mentioned, "This is a SHOCKER... #ThugsOfHindostan may be the most expensive Hindi film, with Aamir Khan enjoying an enviable following in international markets, but its *lifetime biz* in #USA + #Canada and #Australia will be lower than #BadhaaiHo... Content wins and how! #TOH

Thugs of Hindostan also received negative reviews from critics. The Indian Express critic Shubhra Gupta had mentioned in her review, "Not only do you end up picking up on past films, scenes and references, you are left struggling with staleness and boredom. The writing is shockingly pedestrian, and the film just lies around, waiting for something to happen. Nothing does, for nearly three hours. Yes, this is thuggery on a large scale, and we the viewers are at the receiving end.

Produced by Yash Raj Films, Thugs of Hindostan brought Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan together on screen for the first time. The film also starred Katrina Kaif and Fatima sana sheikh.
