Ishqbaaaz, the Star Plus popular show, has been one of the most watched and loved shows on Indian television. The show stars Nakuul Mehta and Surbhi Chandna in the lead roles and are shipped as Shivika (Shivaay and Annika) by their fans. Well, amidst incessant rumours of the show going off air, it was reported that Shivaay and Annika will be seen becoming parents in the coming episodes. Along with this, rumours were afloat that Annika will be shown dead post giving birth to the baby thereby quitting the show.
But, hold on, that is not entirely true. A source close to the development informed Pinkvilla that while Shivika's baby track is being considered, there is no way the channel would let go of Surbhi as she has been the key element in the popularity of the show. The source said, "The channel has been considering exploring the Shivika's baby track after receiving a lot of fan requests on mail. However, like many other TV actors, seems like, Surbhi also is a bit apprehensive about playing a mother onscreen. Hence, the channel is currently in the process of working things out and trying to find a way out of this but they are very much certain of having her onboard."
The source added, "The channel wants to take Shivika's story a little forward with this track as that is the most natural thing to do instead of rehashing and repeating the age old daily soap gimmicks." Regarding the generation leap rumours, the source said that if they finally do explore the baby track, the leap is planned after a few months and not immediately. They want to explore the baby track for a few months before that.
Well, we hope things get worked out. Ishqbaaaz recently took home a lot of trophies at Star Parivaar Awards 2018. The show airs at 10 PM.
