Don't look here for episode appreciation

So I really wanted to like ... not like, love today's episode. But while Prerna quasi-confession was amazing I am sick and tired of two things:

- the writers constantly making Anurag call prerna dumb. To be honest today (and sometimes in the past too) they have portrayed as being emotional rather than intelligent. But even girls who are not that intelligent - how many of them will find attractive a guy who keeps telling them they are stupid (or vice versa).

- W*F how dare you say Anurag that as much as prerna is concerned for her family, you are concerned more for your family!

- and finally we all want to relate to Prerna. We want her to reflect how we are and how we wish to be. Strong intelligent independent girls of 2018. Why are you making her a stupid loser?

Like seriously! WAKE UP WRITERS. Stop with the old fashioned nonsense! Why do I get the feeling this is going from bad to worse.

Do you think writers come to places like India forums - do they appreciate what their audience is feeling?

^😆 I also went W*F in that moment. I was reminded of the dialouge prerna had a couple of episodes before- tumhari family tumhari family, meri family tou asmaan se tapki haina. Anurag completely disregarded the feelings prerna had for her family members. I guess we will have to take the episode with a grain of salt because I don't really think the creators visit IF 😆 They should though🤔

So so disappointed with today's episode. Seriously it's going from bad to worse 😕 . Totally agree with all your points. I realised today that it's really not worth it to engage yourself with an Ekta's show . She has such an amazing cast and she treats them extremely poor writing and direction ! They all deserve something much better than this !!
Special mention for Erica's brilliant performance in the emotional confession sequence. She nailed it and how !

I started thinking I have two points. Which went to three. But I could have written ten.

I don't know why successful strong women like Ekta still allow such stories to be written and propagated.

You are totally correct no girl would in first place fall for a guy who keeps calling her dumb even if just joking.
The core concept of the show is star crossed lovers. Now I've no clue how this star crossed concept was depicted in s1 because they keep saying the essence of kasauti will remain same. But here they might just go with the quintessential way of standing separated by their love for their respective family

OMG YAS. Thank you for this post!
i am honestly so tired of Anurag, you know. the repetitive pining on the wall, relentlessly going on and on about how bad Naveen babu is 'see I want the best for you. I cannot let it hurt you', why are you doing this tell me- this is all getting tiring, and annoying- give Prerna some space man.
Also today after Prerna's confession- Anurag's response was...erm...again Naveen babu. See, you are dumb.

Also absolutely agree on how Anurag totally disregards Prerna's love for her family. Today's episode, for me, kind of cemented the belief that this Anurag will marry Komolika as per his mother's wish (if things comes to that) and might make stupid mistakes (will go down the KZK1 track). Hope I am wrong.

The writers are being amazingly stupid if they think that by making Prerna look stupid they can make Anurag look more Intelligent . And Anurag really is being stupid by saying things like Chota sa dimag and stupid..
why why writers!!! Pls give some importance to make Prerna look sensible and relatable character. She is the female lead also.. We have to relate to her mentality to get invested in their love story..

Erica was spot on in all her expressions in her scenes today. She is such a beautiful And naturally talented actress. I am so happy that they have toned down her character from that of the ott bubbly & fast speaking Prerna which they showed in the initial episodes. Erica is such a subtle & natural actress that she shines in scenes which are realistic and she nailed it when she confessed to Anurag that he was affecting her. It was such a joy to see such brilliant performance by her but then within a short period of time, the makers suddenly turned her character into a pathetically dumb one. Is it not common sense to know that Anurag was using the phone to call the police? It made no sense why the CVs had to make her look so dumb.😡 And Anurag is certainly annoying me all the more with him keeping on pinning Prerna to the wall forcefully and the repitative dialogues telling Prerna that he will not allow her to marry Naveen babu. I was shocked when he said that he was more worried for his family and especially for his mom totally disregarding Prerna's love & concern for her family.🤢
I sincerely hope EK has a look at the weak links in the story and makes the writers come up with a better script. She has got one of the best cast & crew in the show and they all deserve to get the best deal from this ahow

I completely agree! No girl will be with someone who keeps calling her dumb or stupid. As a personal example, I was about to get engaged to a guy that I liked. However, he called me stupid a few times. I broke it off with him. If he is calling me stupid now, God knows what he will call me if I got married to him.

The reality is that people can be of varied intelligence. Two people bring very different things into a relationship. Even though I am myself quite academic, I would not have a problem with a heroic who is not. However usually people who are not academic are very practical and think outside the box.

Here our heroine is being shown as someone who doesn't like academic subject and is not practical either. And to top it all the patronising tone of Anurag's dialogues.
