I just hate this concept of using kids to narrate a certain POV. The introductory scene where Mishti was consoling all the scared children was too OTT. She is just a five-year old; you can show her caring nature some other way. In ITV, why are children given grown-up characteristics? 😕
And for Pari, have you ever heard a five-year old talk about how my dad would get a heart attack if something happened to me? Why does she have to say that dialogue. Instead, it would have been better if a teacher or some other adult narrated to Mauli that yes, we know Pari's father and I am sure he would be too concerned for her. Or the weird scene of her entering Mauli's house with red footprint? Or things like I don't give my papa to anyone? Or talking about how her papa is so handsome? Kids just don't say stuff like that 😕

I remember in YHM where a five-year-old Ruhi would talk about Ishita not being a "baanjh" and that sounded so wrong on so many levels. Why does a child need to convey this message in the show? Which child talks like that in real life? Why couldn't they have a grown-up portray the same message?

Why are children given grown-up dialogues just to progress the story? There being kids is enough of a progression in story, they don't need to become adult-like characters. Have you guys seen the interviews with the two kids, where they really aren't sure what's happening and are just playing around? That is what kids are like; they are not mini-adults like ITV portrays 😕

That's how Indian shows work. Grown up acts like a toddler and kids act like head of family😆

Honestly! I hate having to watch children on TV shows anyway as their characters are usually poorly written, they are often bad actors with unintelligible dialogue delivery (not their fault - they're literal children!) or they serve no purpose beyond the 'aww' factor, which I usually don't feel.

But all of this is much, much worse when the children are used to foreshadow plot lines, as if we're too stupid as an audience to understand the significance otherwise. I know I'm in the minority for not finding kids on TV cute. But for me, it's bad enough to have to watch their badly written characters for too long; giving them contrived dialogues and trying to get them to do the heavy lifting in setting up the premise makes it almost unwatchable.

I can't believe I have someone to agree with me on this😆

Same here, can't stand itv kids at all. They behave either too mature or too dumb and things are explained by saying we are playing games. Kids are very badly written on indian tv. There is no innocence, they behave more adult way then adults themselves.
Even the cute aww factor goes down the drain given the cringeworthy dialogues

I agree.

I don't mean to attack you. I want to make that clear since I know how it will sound.

If you're against this, how could you accept Manish and Avika romancing on screen? Wasn't she only 15 or something and he was almost 19 years her senior?

By let kids be kids, I meant the characters of kids should behave like kids. I think Avika was very mature at the time she portrayed Roli and was in no way a kid. They didn't have many romantic scenes until Avika was a bit older and even then, it was all masti type scenes. Avika as an artist didn't have a problem playing that role and neither did her parents. I think what you are talking about is more applicable to Jannat in Tu Aashiqui and I think she was a misfit for that role. Still, she can portray what she chooses to. And Roli was 18 years old in the show so it was fine for her to get married. These kids are 5 years old and are shown having characteristics of grown ups 😕
