Q. Can Zero and Simbha both take 35 crore plus openings and will the release of Simbha hit the collections of Zero badly in week two?.

A. The trailers are still to come for the films but assuming trailers are pretty good then 35 crore nett mark will be pushing it for both films as both are non holiday releases and 35 crore is more than what Tiger Zinda Hai got last year with Salman Khan in an acton film which was also a sequel to a big film. Obviously Simbha is an action film but it is not Tiger Zinda Hai and Zero is a film which will probably go up on day two so to be at 35 crore nett on day one would have to be a best case scenario.

As to how the second week goes it depends on the content, normally Simbha will hit collections of Zero but if Zero is a good film and liked across the board and then it would actually be making some ground in Mumbai circuit in week two as this circuit will probably start a bit less than others. On the other hand Mumbai is the best circuit for Simbha and if Zero works then it will affect the multiplex screenings of Simbha and Mumbai could be hit most as its potential is most in Mumbai and needs the desired screenings.

Q. Stree Badhaai Ho and Andhadhun are huge hits so doe this make people like Rajkumar Rao and Ayushman Khurran stars?

A. Andhadhun and huge is not correct. Its a Mumbai circuit HIT mainly. As for stars these are not the type of films that make big stars as the audience coming in for these films is what we call the neutral audience and that can be seen by the ratio of business in certain multiplexes, its pretty much sure this audience is not being converted to fans of these actors and that will probably be seen in the initials of the next films.

This audience goes by the film, next film they could dissapear and give you a 1-2 crore opening. The hype in the trade and media is there for these guys as trade sees these films as huge hits and the media likes these films but the industry big guns are unlikely to put big money on these guys. Thats not to say they will not get big films, it is possible but it wont be from the banners with strong track records who have sounder judgement.
