1. Insecurity in job/competition/etc helps in getting best out of person, its both beneficial for individual and employers growth.

2. Insecured individual sometimes cann't really perform well becuase of tensions

3. Secured state of mind can be more productive in employees thought process.

4. Secured employees are living in comfort zone and nothing more then slackerss.

Does insecurity gets the best of out of individual employee or do employee perform best when secured?

don't know about insecurity, raj, as i am a secure and very positive person. but challenegs do get the best out of me. i give my best when on a tough job with tight deadlines.

i feel it varies from person to person. some perform best under pressure and some can't perform under pressure. but i like the pressure that challenges and high expectations create. as of now, i never faced the pressure from job insecurity so don't know much about it 😊

In a younger age in life, I feel an insecure job is more ideal. The person is entering the job market, competition, change, dynamic environments can help a person grow professionally. Also it is a stage where skills are being developed and people are finding what sort of job they like so a decent amount of change is good. However, too much insecurity and pressure is not good.

In an older stage people have more financial responsibilities. They have their families to think of. In this stage a more stable job is better. That way people can relax a bit in regards to work and give enough time to other life priorities.

Thanks for response...but won't anyone perform more then self capability if his/her job is at stake and no option for changing job.

Hear yaa many are as you think...but there are good numbers who are just waiting for reality bite before they work upto thier potential...or remian in the so called comfort zone.

sarina, do you mean "challenging" job or "insecure" job? one can learn all the bolded stuff in a challenging job as well. sometimes, even fairly easier jobs can be insecure ones due to demand-supply. insecurity doesn't always mean learning and developing new skills...imo. i agree with ur second paragraph though. with a family, job security matters to most people.

I would say "Challenging" is a better word than "insecure". I used insecure due to lack of better term and it was used in the first post. But I agree insecurity can be a negative factor. What I mean to say is a job that has a higher degree of 'Challenge' in it. You have to keep up with your skills, keep learning, growing and improving.

Ya i second with RTH, Challenge is the better word.......no body secure in job sector...we can perform and show our talents different ways, some people very lazy to take challenge, and they follow the same system of working style...if little changes happen the system, start blame on management n other higher authorities. In a job system, changes and challenges are imporentend otherwise we cant get the productive results.😊
