Hindi is one of the national language...
in southern states ppl either follow local languages Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada etc... or they speak in English... so their Hindi is not good / weak...

Hindi is not a national language but an official one. India has no national language.
PS: I ain't a Sreesanth supporter but here I give it to him if he says his Hindi is weak.

In the constitution, Hindi was declared as an official language and not a national language..

India has NO ''national language''.

Hindi is an ''official language'' in India.

India has 22 official languages & Hindi is just one of them.

Remember how Upen Patel was criticized for his Hindi knowing he was born and raised in England. Also others like Sophia.

So why are South Indians like Sreesanth and PrabhuDeva given passes.

I am a Malyali myself.
and yes its true.

At the earlier stages of me learning Hindi, i used Tu Tadak too.
My (hindi speaking) freinds always corrected me whenever i talked that way.

But My views on Sreesanth is that he was wrong in using Tu Tadak way of speaking.

If he was speaking that way towards everyone then we could have given him a benefit of doubt.
But to Dipika and Neha he used to talk with respect.
That means he knows how to speak with respect and how to speak with Tu Tadak.

Sree's wife was right Respect is give and take.
But if Sreesant won't give respect to Saba and Somi, how could she expect her huspand will get respect from them.

He knows how to talk respectfully and he chose who to talk respectfully and whom to not.

No.. It's not.. there is always a misconception about this claiming Hindi as a national language.. it is one of the official language like many others.. Not knowing Hindi should not a big deal as long as they are fine with their mother tongue or any language they are able to communicate with others..

I guess because even if they were raised in England Hindi is either their mother tongue or pretty much close to Hindi whereas in the case of the latter, their mother tongues belong to an entirely different language family altogether and have NOTHING in common with Hindi.
