When you're shooting round the clock with the same person for days on end, sparks are bound to fly. That's why we find actors falling for one another most of the time.
Vishal Singh and Kanchi Kaul seem to have fallen prey to the same syndrome. Their romance has been the buzz of the TV industry for a while now but the couple still maintains a silence on the subject. And we really don't blame them because both are supposed to be intimately involved with their respective partners. It is not surprising that they fell for each other considering the long hours they've been spending on the sets since a while now.
They first met when they were working together for Ek Ladki Anjaani Si. Though their relationship was that of uncle and niece on the show, they seemed to have hit it off on a completely different tangent in real life. Whatever characters they played on-screen didn't seem to affect their off-screen chemistry. They bonded instantly and became really close. Not only that, they would also spend maximum time with each other on the sets and in between shots.
Even then, Kanchi and Vishal did seem like a couple but nobody really spoke about this romance until they started working in Bhabhi. Vishal was the first to join the cast of Bhabhi. The makers were on the lookout for a new face for the character of Suhana who has been a crucial part of the serial. One hears that it was Vishal who recommended Kanchi's name for the role, and eventually she did get the part. At that time, Vishal was the one who was most thrilled with the development.
After that, there was no looking back for the two. The crew of Bhabhi was surprised to see the amazing rapport they shared. They would always be together; they would even have lunch together, away from the prying eyes of the rest of the cast. Sources said that after a point of time, they started coming together on the sets. Vishal would pick Kanchi from her residence and then the two would head for their shooting. They would even leave together.
Such things are hard to keep a secret especially in an industry where tongues cannot stop wagging. A few months back, Kanchi celebrated her birthday with a huge party and Vishal was one of the main attractions there. Her friends considered Vishal as the most special guest at the occasion.
The camaraderie is also helping them professionally, because on-screen too, they are a much sought-after pair. Star Plus recently did crossover episodes of Kumkum and Saarthi with the entire cast celebrating the success together. This two-hour special episode had special performances and acts by many stars, including Vishal and Kanchi. They even rehearsed together for the act, much of which would go on after their regular shooting hours.
But publicly, Vishal and Kanchi still don't look ready for an announcement. The reason why they are keeping their relationship a secret is because Vishal already has a girlfriend for many years. And she still doesn't know about Kanchi's existence in his life, despite the hearsay. He's seeing Kanchi but cannot break up with his girlfriend. It's this dilemma that's forcing him to maintain a silence right now.
At the same time, Kanchi is also officially involved with someone else. One doesn't really know what her pressures are. Maybe she's waiting for Vishal to make a clean break before she can take the call herself.
No wonder their lips are sealed. When we spoke to Vishal about this alleged romance, he was ready with a retort, "It's not true. Kanchi and I are not seeing each other." We didn't expect Kanchi to confess either; she had something similar to add. "I am certainly not dating him. There is another man in my life who is not from this industry," she said and then added, "I guess these rumours are being spread to increase the TRPs of the show (Bhabhi). But none of this is true."
Maybe there are a lot of things happening in their lives currently; maybe they both just need time to realize the gravity of their emotions for one another before taking a crucial step in their personal lives. Or maybe like Alice Randall, the famous African American author and songwriter says, "Sometimes when almost everything is wrong, one thing is so right that you would do it all over again."
