Hey guys, a newbie here, although i have already posted comments in few posts.😛
Anyways I had a question regarding online viewership. i was wondering if the makers and the PH care about online popularity of the show? Or are they only concerned about the TV-trp? Like i used to watch this show on the official youtube channel of colours. Now that the story (or rather lack thereof) has gone downhill I dont watch it there anymore. But I noticed that many people watch it on youtube, like the views are always over 600K in a day or two. That a pretty big renevnue generator.
I see many post here talking about trp and how low trp forced makers to change the course of the show and focus more on Mouli. Do you think its only trp or did youtube views and fan reaction social media made a difference too?

I am asking this because the online community is overwhelmingly on Mouli's side and there is deep hatred for Kunal and Nandini. Its almost unanimous. So, you'd think makers would know by now what the viewers want. But going by how the show is progessing atm it looks like they are keeping the divine love at the forefront and weaking Mouli. So, yeah I am little confused.

fam accounts on youtube should not upload episodes it affects the trp.. people avoid watching on tv and watch on youtube or desitv sites.
but yes online views for voot episode matters as they are also minting money for the channel/production house..

Thanks for replying

The youtube channel of colours is not official account? i didn't know that. I thought they uploaded their shows to garner online viewership and consequently advertisement revenues. Like how late night shows upload their episodes on youtube too (last week tonight with john oliver does it, not sure about the rest). The colours channel looks pretty legit too, both in quality of uploads and also the quantity. They upload every show.

no there must be a colors youtube account and that is for sure a real one. but i dont think they upload full videos on youtube.. it affects trps and also people download from channel youtube account and post it on their account.. i was talking about fan accounts..
almost every channel now has a website of their own like for colors and mtv its voot.. for star plus its hotstar. so it helps them to make money. but what matters the most is television views..
hope my answer helps
