Vicky Kaushal has not only caught
everyone's attention lately but has
undoubtedly made 2018 his year with
the fabulous roles he has portrayed on
screen. From the charming army officer
Iqbal in Raazi to a wonderful friend
Kamli in Sanju and the gullible Paras in
Lust Stories, the actor has made his way
into everyone's hearts and how.
Moreover, his recent role of DJ Sands
in Manmarziyaan has received
appreciation from the audience and

However, Vicky as well has had his share
of struggle before getting his due
recognition in Bollywood. In a recent
interview with a leading daily, he opened
up about the rejections he faced and
how he's getting closer to the space he
always wanted to create for himself by
working hard. Talking about the tough
times he had faced, he said, "I didn't
know back then that within three years,
I would get to work with Rajkumar
Hirani, Aanand L Rai, Karan Johar, Anurag
Kashyap and Meghna Gulzar all in the
same year.

When prodded if new actors would have
to struggle less because of
the precedence set by the likes of actors
like him and Rajkummar Rao, he
affirmed it by saying that it is solely
because of the evolution of the audience.
"You show them (audience) the same
thing 10 times in a row and they would
be happy. But right now, you need to
surprise the audience with every film
you do. They don't want anything which
has a repeat value, he added.
Moreover, he praised the writers for
exploring uncharted territories, which is
thereby increasing the demand for
unconventional faces and characters. On
being asked if he has previously faced
any discrimination on the basis of his
looks, he quipped that although nobody
had been this upfront with him, he could
see it in their eyes and the way they
looked at him.
On the work front, Vicky will be seen in
debutante director Aditya Dhar's Uri,
apart from starring in Karan Johar's
Takht.
