It might hurt Vipul Shah, since he is coming back to direction after a decade or so.
I am hesitant to say any actor is "done" though, atleast not these days when you never know whose career gets a second lease of life with which film. Who would have thought that people like Kartik Aaryan who debuted almost a decade ago will finally be in a position where there are rumors of him being in the next film of "A-List" directors. Or people like Kiara Advani are finally being noticed. Or someone like Radhika Madan who debuted in a cheesy Ekta Kapoor soap years ago now has two films backed by reputed names? Or that a Sanya Malhotra will also have two films ready for release before Fatima (what with the latter being backed by Aamir)
Shraddha started with films like Teen Patti and Luv ka the end and had to wait for three years till A2. She then got boycotted by YRF and while it isnt a big deal today(it probably is a blessing in disguise), till even 5 years ago, it was a "scary" deal to be treated that way by that company. I feel calling Stree as some game-changer in her career a bit far-fetched, because it isnt a film people instinctively associate with the female lead (unlike a Raazi or a Tumhari Sulu), and if Batti Gul doesnt do well, she is again going to take a hit. However, there is no denying that it will help her get more and better offers.
But she seems to be pretty thick-skinned though - it isn't easy to be sane under severe criticism from all quarters - she has gotten brutal reviews - still she has managed to stick around - and not changed the way her face looks or the way she presents herself in interviews. Maybe it is a good thing that she disassociated from YRF and Karan Johar never considered her a "threat" to Alia, so he didn't bother stringing her along, and she didn't try sucking up to him. (and it is obvious Karan doesn't like her much)
I feel Parineeti did let a lot of things get to her, and she lost sight of just what kind of career she wanted to have and what sort of artist she wanted to be. Not making excuses for her regressing acting skills, but I don't think acting is something you forget overnight. Problem isn't that - but I just feel a lot has happened behind the scenes where she just got burnt by both Aditya Chopra and Karan Johar - and at one point - during the HTP phase - she did want to make a mark with both YRF and Dharma films. She didn't count on KJo being so obsessed with Alia that he would never give her his best films. By now, the entire industry knows.
Parineeti still has three films, and as long as you aren't out of sight, you are never "done".
Arjun is a bit like Shraddha - not much acting talent to speak about, but hustles hard and somehow manages to network and get films. Panipat is yet to begin and he already seems to have films with Ajay Devgan, Anees Bazmee, and Ekta Kapoor almost confirmed. Heck, the guy couldn't take up Life in a Metro 2, because he didnt have dates😆. NE might hurt him , but his next two films will at least get better trailer reviews than this one based on their premises and directors.
With the way the Box Office is these days, I wouldn't be surprised even if a Neil Nitin Mukesh or an Imran Khan make a comeback. As long as they don't do a Bobby Deol and sign up for Race 4 with Salman Khan.
