Yrf doesn't care about their actors, except for Vaani. They're nothing like Dharma that actually wants their actors to do well. They've been trying to kill Ranveer's career too. Look at the movies he's done with them. And even Sushant - wasted a good part of his life with Yrf. The problem was Parineeti was too dependent on them and didn't look outside until recently.
Shradha is smart - she got out at the first chance. Gotto say that girl has guts. But she also has more connections that Parineeti doesn't have.

so who is to be blamed for pari's bad acting in this trailer? kjo? alia?
i agree opportunities make a diff..but lets not find excuses for her regression as an artist and blame it on others too

it is her own approach and priorities which changed..i mean this girl openly confessed on anupama show that she will do filmy acting from now onwards and one CAN see the difference post MPB..it is opportunities..? yes but more than that her own approach towards her craft which resulted in her regression as an artist

The break, her obsession with her weight and her bad script sense definitely hurt her. And to an extent, the fact that KJo kept her hanging about casting her in his directorial (cos of which she rejected a few films) and then eventually shelved the idea to make ADHM. Pari was a live wire on screen. She had the best screen presence among the newer lot and as redundant as it sounds, she was fabulous as Zoya. Too bad it din't work out for her and its reached a stage where even her acting has deteriorated.

the fact is that parineeti had to wait for a year to get a nice script while alia doesn't says something about the industry...

whatever her own human battles were about her weight loss...that low phase she went through. there is a reason for that and it was most likely not getting films of the same caliber as say an alia. when parineeti imo way more deserving.
and yea she was blunt about it and offended some ppl but it did help her stay in the limelight when she probably was on the verge of being written off because of a lack of films
atleast parineeti was real about her issues and insecurities..while alia seems more like a robot who gets a self esteem boost every other day and affirmation from the support she receives. theres a difference!

when kjo calls you a "heavyweight" in front of a competitor and praises her to the sky's on a show...its plain disgusting. and she was younger at the time too. how does that not effect a person?
actors are human too gosh..

I don't think parineeti's acting priorities changed..as she has said numerous times that she would kill to play priyankas character in barfi.
what is different is the ability for alia to take risks and experiment with the support and parineeti not being able to-it is harder for her to do that. and their career choices reflect that for sure

I'm not saying it is totally YRF's or Adi Chopra's fault but YRF did play a role in destroying Pari's career. They never gave her the chance to work in there big headline movies or movies with big stars like they did with Anushka and Vaani.

After her weight loss she lobbied hard for Sultan but it was given to Anushka. She was almost finalized for the role but at the last minute Ali chose Anushka over her. And recently there was a blind item that Pari was miffed with Aditya Chopra because he casted Vaani opposite Ranbir in Shamshera eventhough she was available. She was offered Piku but had to let it go because she was bound by YRF contract. And the sabbatical she took for weight loss was rumoured to be suggested by Aditya Chopra.

Aditya Chopra is the worst mentor. He almost ruined Ranveer's career by giving Gunday and Kill Dil after the his big commercial hit RamLeela and when he had gain some momentum after BM he gave him Befikre.

But unlike Ranveer Pari was not smart enough to look for work outside YRF from the begining. Her biggest downfall is she put all her eggs in the YRF basket when she is not YRF favourite actress for big movies with big stars.

It might hurt Vipul Shah, since he is coming back to direction after a decade or so.
I am hesitant to say any actor is "done" though, atleast not these days when you never know whose career gets a second lease of life with which film. Who would have thought that people like Kartik Aaryan who debuted almost a decade ago will finally be in a position where there are rumors of him being in the next film of "A-List" directors. Or people like Kiara Advani are finally being noticed. Or someone like Radhika Madan who debuted in a cheesy Ekta Kapoor soap years ago now has two films backed by reputed names? Or that a Sanya Malhotra will also have two films ready for release before Fatima (what with the latter being backed by Aamir)

Shraddha started with films like Teen Patti and Luv ka the end and had to wait for three years till A2. She then got boycotted by YRF and while it isnt a big deal today(it probably is a blessing in disguise), till even 5 years ago, it was a "scary" deal to be treated that way by that company. I feel calling Stree as some game-changer in her career a bit far-fetched, because it isnt a film people instinctively associate with the female lead (unlike a Raazi or a Tumhari Sulu), and if Batti Gul doesnt do well, she is again going to take a hit. However, there is no denying that it will help her get more and better offers.
But she seems to be pretty thick-skinned though - it isn't easy to be sane under severe criticism from all quarters - she has gotten brutal reviews - still she has managed to stick around - and not changed the way her face looks or the way she presents herself in interviews. Maybe it is a good thing that she disassociated from YRF and Karan Johar never considered her a "threat" to Alia, so he didn't bother stringing her along, and she didn't try sucking up to him. (and it is obvious Karan doesn't like her much)

I feel Parineeti did let a lot of things get to her, and she lost sight of just what kind of career she wanted to have and what sort of artist she wanted to be. Not making excuses for her regressing acting skills, but I don't think acting is something you forget overnight. Problem isn't that - but I just feel a lot has happened behind the scenes where she just got burnt by both Aditya Chopra and Karan Johar - and at one point - during the HTP phase - she did want to make a mark with both YRF and Dharma films. She didn't count on KJo being so obsessed with Alia that he would never give her his best films. By now, the entire industry knows.

Parineeti still has three films, and as long as you aren't out of sight, you are never "done".

Arjun is a bit like Shraddha - not much acting talent to speak about, but hustles hard and somehow manages to network and get films. Panipat is yet to begin and he already seems to have films with Ajay Devgan, Anees Bazmee, and Ekta Kapoor almost confirmed. Heck, the guy couldn't take up Life in a Metro 2, because he didnt have dates😆. NE might hurt him , but his next two films will at least get better trailer reviews than this one based on their premises and directors.

With the way the Box Office is these days, I wouldn't be surprised even if a Neil Nitin Mukesh or an Imran Khan make a comeback. As long as they don't do a Bobby Deol and sign up for Race 4 with Salman Khan.

Karan really strung her along for Mr and Mrs Tapori or something and then Dinesh Vijan for a film with Saif. Both were shelved and she had nothing to do. Alia was so insecure of her those days - her beahvior on KwK was godawful.

I think Jabariya Jodi might be good for Parineeti, considering its the AD team behind TWM. What is surprising is that it is a Shradha reject. So Shradha gets lots of offers! Also there is Aparshakti Kurana! But I have no expectations from NE and SAPF. Dibakar is hit or miss.

What is there to hurt? She have hardly bo pull and in acting she is kind of repetitive. She is still getting the movies which in itself is a big thing.
