There is no one like Kajol -- whether you like her or not, she's a very strong individual and has a personality unlike the cookie cutter heroines we see mostly. I'm glad she came in the 90's because I don't think she would have been allowed to stay like this if she was debuting today. I remember a few years ago the DDLJ celebrations, Farida Jalal had said the same thing...Kajol has an individuality that is missing entirely today.
She's always had different priorities and movies were a fun passion for her. I don't think she's ever done them to improve cinema or take it forward-- they're just for her and for others to enjoy. It's okay to be like this, at least she doesn't pretend otherwise.
There was obviously a lot of KJo and SRK in there, nothing new, but as always she speaks with a lot of very apparent love for them. Of course there was Ajay and other stories. It was sweet of her to talk about liking Vidya and thanking the audience for being more accepting today as well. Movie like Tumhari Sulu mean that movies like Eela can be made.
LOL @ Mani Ratnam calling her and Kajol thinking SRK was again playing a prank on her so not taking it seriously..then SRK calling her and yelling at her about it really being Mani Ratnam. 😆 Even talking about movies she's rejected...she didn't play coy and not name them but was very clear that they're not her movies.
I had no idea she rejected Gadar though. Dil Se toh is well known, because she chose to prioritize KKHH.
