Mujhe 1.5 months ho gaye is forum mein, and only a dozen folks actually make threads and comment (for activity) ...there are threads that even get 1000 unique visitors, but they refuse to even like a post, leave alone comment.

We have a really huge number of stealth visitors who will hardly respond to an attendance thread ...I guess I have become very pessimistic here.

So I thought, I'll use this thread to post about Forum activity.

No point making another thread for this. 😆

So, what I think is, we have loads of members. But it is quite haphazard, in the sense, since our Forum is still relatively new, we don't have any plan/schedule in place..

1. Daily WU - sorted. Whoever is active should ensure that we make at least one post in that thread everyday and comment on it as well. I try to, but I'll try more diligently. Again, if there are very few people, or very few discussion threads or too many blue threads it becomes monotonous. It is for me. I guess a lot of others feel so too 😆

So if everyone makes an attempt to comment, it would be amazing.

2. We need one person who can analyse the episode and post an analysis thread. I love such threads, and I love commenting on such threads. But I suck at making them. I am sure we have enough talent here, we just need to push them to be active.

3. We can have daily threads such as Best Performer/Best Scene or anything it could be poll cum discussion thread.

4. Apart from these for starters, we could and should comment on other blue threads that are made.

5. Stories - in Romances like DHTH, Fanfictions attract people like anything. I will contribute here. Fanfictions not only motivate people to read, it also motivates other writers to write. I would do as much as possible here coz I have all the time in the world now. 😆

So I guess for now, this would work. Plus these attendance threads everyday can also serve as general discussion threads.

P.S. these are just my views..no pressure. 😳

Could u explain me how the forums work? N what is forum activity? I mean why is it important? What's the benefit of top ranking of a show or actors on India Forums? As per my basic knowledge, forums are on until the show is on-air and later if the forum is active, it continues to exist...isn't it?

Well, I know nothing except creating a discussion thread by posting a topic n commenting on those topics😆

@Anuja - Forum rankings are important because:

1) Self gratification - we want the serial that we love to have the top spot

2) Top rankings on IF are an indication of strength of online viewership - this has become important of late to the channels. Its true that IF is only one source of data, but nevertheless an important source - Production houses and channels alike do visit this forum to get feedback

If you love the serial, feel free to write your thoughts about it in any way or format (there is no rule)- let people know about your emotional connect with the serial (if you do have a connect 😊 )

I like analysing episodes n write such stuff though I m average as a writer. But the point is I watch this show on Jio tv n it only streams live. N due to network or some other issues, I miss some parts in between😔

N my analysis can go wrong even if I miss one important line😆

That's one reason I don't feel connected with the show yet because I m like kinda only watching it for story due to this live streaming problem, n I miss so much of content n eod I m like thike kya chal raha hai story mein utna samjha baas hua😆

I so wish to write such analysis posts, if not analysis, at least about the whole episode. But I can't!

Any solution?

Btw, I'd like to add to the list that the members should not make one line comments always. Even in the comments, if we write detailed thoughts, it gives rise to more n more discussion. Everybody should try to make analytical posts than just one line comments he was good she was disappointing this n that. That curbs the discussion. N I agree, making 10 different threads n having only such one liner comments makes no point, rather make one thread n discuss there in detail.

Well, Idk if that's suitable for the forum activity as u all keep saying.

Oh ok...thanks for the info.

I'll surely write whenever n whatever I feel like. But doing this for the top ranking of a show n all doesn't seem to be my cup of tea

To not get myself addicted to a show, I have completely restricted myself from the off-screen things, u know the trp tension n ratings n rankings n all. I do get emotionally involved in characters but not in the show, because come what may, it is going to end some day n then it hurts badly. So I keep myself away from these things, anyways we can't do much about trps n viewership n all. I m of the opinion that making a show n writing its tracks n worrying about the ratings is their job, and watching it the way it comes n till the time it comes is our job, for them its a business, we should also not make it an emotional issue.

Apart from this, discussion whatever is shown is alright, I'll surely do that as much as I can.

I think someone clarified this. 😛

Forums can be active even after the show goes off-air if there is enough activity in the Forum, but no rankings are considered. Secondly, not everyone has to create threads. I don't think only creating threads increases Forum activity. It actually decreases Forum activity if they don't turn pink.
