No he should be a set designer rather then a filmmaker. Except for Khamoshi and some what HDDCS rest of his movies stories plus characters have no depth. Full of melodrama and OTT acting from the actors.

There's a reason Bhansali's best movie is still Khamoshi. That's his classic. Khamoshi is a top-5 movie of the 90s and is a better movie than any other by any modern filmmaker (save for Mani Ratnam's Dil Se). So his high is still unmatched by today's filmmakers.

HDDCS is is his second best followed by Black and finally Guzaarish.

I do agree that I have been very underwhelmed by Bhansali's last three movies, especially Ram Leela and Padmavati. BM was good except how it turned into Devdas by the end.

I used to rate Bhansali highly. Not anymore. Sriram Raghavan and Dibakar Banerjee are the best filmmakers around today. From the commercial sphere, of course, it's Hirani.

Khamoshi, black were really good...most period dramas he was more focused on the visuals n less on the soul...I didn't like his recent work...so no he ya not that good apparently
