I have never heard any director talk about SRK the way he does , even with the director's SRK worked extensively have never talked about him or representing him in the Anand does .
Anand really does see SRK as jus that old SRK from Kabhi Hasan kabhi naa , RBGG days .

It's obvious Anand Rai loves SRK but not in the way Karan or Farah or even Maneesh Sharma do. The others are awed by him and how big he is. You can almost picture them going weak in the knees when he's around. It's not surprising that they can't direct him well. SRK was really really good in Fan but I think it was his own doing and not anything related to Manish.Anand Rai sees him as a normal guy, one he likes a lot, but still just a normal guy you can hang out with and talk to and work with. I hope that means he can direct him properly too. Most of the time, SRK isn't able to get that kind of support and is left to his own devices. I remember him mentioning it that even Imtiaz Ali would direct Anushka and discuss the character with her but say nothing to him and he seemed a bit bothered about it. 😆

😆 🤗There were so many gems in this intv ... on Ranjhanaa , Himanshu , SRK .I Liked that particular part where they were discussing about Anand-Himanshu and he says that Himanshu still debates that you still have not shown the Kundan that is there in him(Himanshu) 😆 .I have never heard any director talk about SRK the way he does , even with the director's SRK worked extensively have never talked about him or representing him in the Anand does .Anand really does see SRK as jus that old SRK from Kabhi Hasan kabhi naa , RBGG days .It was Himanshu who once said that the inspiration behind Kundan was Sunil from Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa.Agree to what you said about having expectation from Zero only because of Anand-Himanshu.I quite enjoyed Anurag-Anand combo in Mukkebaaz , both have different direction style yet have common thing between them "the love for the Characters.Anand's Humble-ness is Infectious .

Hahaha and how Anand is like...Himanshu should make his own Kundan if he still has more to tell about him. I got him out of my system. 😆I must have missed the interview where Himanshu said Kundan is based on Sunil from KHKN. I can definitely see that actually...you know ironically, after watching Ranjhanaa, if I ever had to recast the film and replace Dhanush (and I wouldn't because Dhanush was pitch perfect) the only other actor I could see in place was a young SRK...perhaps that's why ALR was one of the very few directors that I genuinely wanted SRK to work with.I think part of the reason Anand can see SRK that ways is just because he himself is a secure and happy man. He's simply not cynical whereas Karan is and he sees SRK from the stature that he brings, perhaps because SRK was already a big star by the time Karan was starting out with him. ALR by contrast is not in awe of SRK the superstar, but more attuned to SRK the person. Unlike some of his other directors who very obviously are in awe of SRK the star. Maybe Aditya Chopra can still see SRK as a person but he never talks so who knows what he thinks really... though even he has lost touch with reality.I also loved what ALR said about having nothing to lose. It's not fame and monetary success that drives him...just telling the story that he feels strongly about and bringing some newness to challenge him. This level of simplicity and purity is rare...whatever happens to Zero, I think ALR losing this purity would be his true failure. BTW, between Ranjhana and now...I don't see too much of a change in ALR. His answers are still very similar to what they were 5 years back.
