What lies beyond atonement

Much of the focus for the current track seems to be about Shivaay's atonement...a daily scorecard seems to be maintained about whether he has done enough, whether Anika has given him enough of a cold shoulder, how she must remain "strong", how he must grovel far more daily to "earn forgiveness".

For me, however, that is not where the substance lies right now...these are token things that seem to get flipped daily in this redux anyways. Just a week back, this Anika who was groveling for this shaadi to be accepted, crying over a broken MS now doesn't care about any MS or shaadi😆, and only now dwells on Shivaay calling her the R word...when he actually called her that that night in the mandir, she still ran after him pleading for him to accept the shaadi.

The strange delayed reactions of this Anika in this redux deffo lead to some disconnect. It takes her days to react to even super traumatic events and her personality shifts 180 degrees almost daily...lol today she seemed to be in the mood to show contempt for Shivaay so she finally let him have it😆

For me, the interesting moments come from the few instances where this Shivika are allowed to portray the depth of the emotion b/w them...the emotion that lies beyond the wounds, the scars, the hurt, the anger, the bitterness, the contempt, the remorse, the guilt. There is an emotion that supercedes all of that and surprisingly most ppl don't seem to see it or care for it while they are busy keeping score of how much more Shivaay needs to do to earn his maafi😆...it is not a generally "caring" nature, it is not "large heartedness" on Anika's part that makes her turn back to him even when she tries to walk away...it is this emotion that doesn't have a name in this redux yet but it's existed b/w Shivika since day one...an emotion that allows them to always reach out to each other instinctively no matter what transpires...there's gussa, there's hurt, there's bitterness...but there is a haq in all of that only possible cuz of this emotion.

Anika understandably feels bitter, hurt and even mocks him for how he can be so blind to the realities of what he inflicted upon her...Shivaay is either surprisingly naive or had his head buried in the sand all this while that he didn't know what calling someone his mistress would entail...lol suddenly today that word is piercing him after he so casually, viciously threw it on her face like that over and over again...all part of HS madam's character denigration spree...now meant to be gotten over easily😆 cuz chipku behen P is back and D has been disposed off magically😆.

Ah but I digress...getting back to what this scene was really about...a Shivaay facing some bitter truths and consequences of his words and actions, but wanting to find a solution as well...imploring, then insisting that she tell him what he can do to atone...LOL@ him saying he wants her life to go back to how it was before...Anika understandably is just tired of his drama and wants a break...lol...but he is desperate now...both for her maafi and for her to not stop talking to him...that was a nice throwback to the last time Shivaay was this desperate to get forgiveness from her and insisted that no matter, she not stop talking to him atleast...what a lovely scene that was.

Today however was about this Shivaay first having to experience atleast a semblance of the pain he put Anika through...filmy and lulzy as the whole scene was with him asking the goons to beat him up as Anika starts to walk away...what struck out to me was the way he was watching her throughout it...there wasn't just a plea for forgiveness in his eyes...but something more elemental...as if he was silently saying, try and leave now...I know you can't...how does he know this? It's cuz of that un-named emotion...Shivaay right now is like a lost child who is searching for his anchor which his heart tells him is only Anika.

Anika's tears as she turns back and sees him getting beaten up, again trying to harden herself to turn and walk away...lol but invariably turning back again to CHARGE at those goons suddenly threatening to call the cops on them😆😆...she didn't think of cops when they were harassing her two minutes back...but now she's suddenly screaming at them at top volume...many personalities in this one Anika😆...jokes apart...again the question...why did she turn back? No, not cuz of her "badaa dil"...she again came back for that emotion that only he draws out of her.

And then for a few brief moments we see an Anika giving in to all the emotions he draws out of her...utter exasperation at how he doesn't listen to anyone, including her, anger at why he didn't just leave when she asked him to, heartbreak over his condition as she hugs him to her, fussing over his wounds, panicking over his state...again, such a strong undercurrent of haq running through this scene...as if it's her right alone to tell him off, to fight with him, to soothe his wounds...not anyone else's. For a moment there, we were blessed with the soul of real Anika...and that made this scene worthwhile...some lovely acting from NM-SC in the way Shivaay and Anika were watching each other in this scene...deffo the highlight of the epi

She was both shaking him in anger and tending to his wounds also all worried...lol

This emotion in itself is multi-faceted...ismein guilt bhi hai aur phir bhi haq hai...ismein gussa bhi hai aur woh bhi haq wala...ismein remorse bhi hai, but woh bhi haq wala...har cheez mein there is a sense of right over each other, an instinctual right of belonging...the ugly turn of events also can't erase that...yes, Shivaay has to face the consequences of what he did...but it's not going to change the truth of what he will always feel for Anika...or what she feels for him.

Shivaay's second attempt at getting forgiveness the next morning was different...day one was him trying straightforward earnest apology...day two seems to be about him trying to prove his resolve in earning her forgiveness...all he can do is keep asking...so he stands there, immovable, waiting to earn her forgiveness...from the heart...this Shivaay now seems to be veering in more Majnu territory...all unkempt, wounds on his face, taking off his shoes so that he can feel his Laila Anika's pain...lol...jokes apart, the thought was nice in terms of atonement...that seeing her feel the pain of stones hurting her bare feet, he couldn't bear the luxury of shoes on his own feet and took those off.

But this Anika, who magically gets job IVs and a new house lined up the moment she leaves OM even though she is otherwise supposedly broke😆😆, was in no mood to entertain his "tamasha" as she called it again...so off she went yet again. Gotta laugh over how she's still sporting sindoor while otherwise claiming she's done with him😆

Shivaay's puppy dog eyes today notwithstanding, I feel this scene kinda overdid Shivaay ka statue mode and overfocused on his gore gore pair a little too much😆...also I might be the only one not too impressed by the extended lyrics of the new male O Jaana today...the first paragraph sounded better...maybe it would work better if the scene had been allowed to be a Shivika scene without extraneous stuff

But otherwise a better epi than the last two pathetic ones.

A few more thoughts to add:

Whether it's RU or AU, Shivika truly thrive when they clash in a battle of wills even as they ultimately bend only for each other...this was a running theme of the real/original story...the takkar that was uniquely them...without tadi, there is nothing for Shivika...whether it's RU or AU.

So let's see if the makers keep that in mind as this atonement track continues and just to satisfy some forever bloodthirsty souls, this isn't made a grovelfest for Shivaay.

Also, would be helpful if HS stopped playing "spin the wheel" daily to keep flipping the entire personalities and traits of this AU Shivika.

Shivika ka base hi hamesha yeh raha hai yeh takkar phir kisi bhi baat ko lekar ho you take that out and yiu are left with nothing.the fun and good part is where they have this HAQ which they use to challenge to hurt to sunao to manao to get frustrated over the other to make them bend to fix their own mistakes this is what makes them shivika

Aaj bhi bas thodi si spine di albeit late realizations it stood out it gave them something to go around it gave us the joy of watching them the actors to bring their A game and just overall meaning to shivika equationcaz today they felt connected to the shivika we've always known

I sincerly hope HS stops changing everything based on reactions esp such shallow reactions like keeping a score card types that just doesn't work for these 2 if she wants to set an example again she will have to stick to a side and follow her own heart rather than flipping everyday.i would appreciate her more if she has the guts to stick to what she wants to convey rather than confusing us each day with flips andexpecting us to adjust eachday

Another thing that stood out to me again today and i appreciate is the fact that shivaay's guilt is not driven by someone else nobody is forcing him to beg maafi or majbooring him it is straight coming out from his heart and that given the situation these days is a big deal toh chalo thankful kuch toh hai like old shivaay

Also the fact that yet again he truly accepted his mistake and maanta hai galat hai dil se and trying to fix it on his own well so far. It is just like RU shivaay and i have always loved this part that once they realizetthey are wrong they try full responsibility if it like he did not try to give stupidjustifications ke mer haalat samjho and all and make peace with it main museebat ka maara tha straight main galat tha is what he i sticking too reason doesn't matter behind his act

Exactly...DIL SE is the key phrase here...otherwise he gave a whole bhaashan since the last two days that didn't have any impact...felt so put on and extra...but today in lesser words, his earnestness came through with how he's grappling with genuine remorse.

Honestly what he did was heinous...but can anyone really DEFINE what the "correct" punishment or atonement for it is? An eye for an eye? I actually read someone say on Twitter that now Prinku should be labeled someone's mistress so Shivaay feels the pain😕...seriously? Where will this bloodthirsty mentality take us then? The problem lies with how HS wrote this whole scenario going way too over the line without much basis...who marries someone in an angry haze and then labels them a mistress? Maybe only the worst of villains...no "anti-hero" does that either...only HS ki pathetic fantasies mein this plays out and is expected to be "justified" as just "anger and MU".

So to me, there is no point trying to get "even" on this score...it was never about getting even...it's more like a window into Shivaay's state of mind and heart now...however it comes to be in this half-assed writing, Shivaay now does see the magnitude of what he did and said...Anika held up a mirror for him today...he feels genuine remorse...but he doesn't know how exactly to earn forgiveness.

What would ppl prefer? That he just not even try? lol that he should just chill on the side until one day Anika magically deems him forgiveable? Some attempts have to be made, no? But if he tries, it gets labeled "emotional manipulation"...lol he's trying in the only way he seems to know how...by trying to show he'll do anything to get her forgiveness...he'll wait all his life if he has to...and he has to show her he means it so he's standing there...what else can he do? He also can't help but want to be in her presence cuz that's just the real him...which otherwise had been drowned out in the ugly MU...so now he wants her forgiveness, wants to set things right...but obviously nothing can move forward before atleast trying to get through a verbal apology/atonement first...the next set of actions will then follow.

My issue was just with his earnest intent today also getting dismissed...I don't see what else he could do at this point.

HS is on a worse trip than ever before...too much shallowness in this redux in general...the last two epis sucked and even today the Shivaay with OmRuPri was blahhh...what does Prinku do other than cling to Shivaay? Seriously why is there nothing to her personality? Such a pile on...and dialogues like, "You guys are the best" were not needed...couldn't Shivaay silently reflect on their advice rather than needing to make everything so overt? The writers need to stop writing in your face dialogues in this redux.

What I actually want to see is some kind of comeback of a REFLECTIVE Shivaay...a Shivaay who wonders why he REALLY married Anika...was it just to get revenge about P? Cuz it really wasn't.

If this Anika is suddenly all into asking relevant questions, she should ask him that too...ki why did he really marry her...he doesn't even know her...and now she's his wife...ask him why he put the ring on her finger that day too.

Are they gonna recall anything of the drunk convo? Do they remember it already cuz Shivaay toh happily played a clip during the shaadi tamasha, no? So when will that come into play?

And I guess I'm still hoping they don't do a cliched office track...so far that's the only thing that HS hasn't succumbed to from ppl's cliched demands...

It is this very emotion that hit home with me today .. after days i felt genuinely moved by the shivika scene this emotion was the highlight. How can anyone overlook it and just be like kuch nahi tha i mean are we seeious here...

Shivaay maintaining his gaze at anika also depiected how she gives him the strngth to now face everything he is getting beaten up but he is focusing on her only and it is as if he is getting hosla to bear this self inflicted pain along with now tell me you don't get affected . It is also him trying to keep his connect his link with anika as she is shutting him down but he k ows if this links breaks now he will vreak apart even further it is kind of like his hope his ray of light . Dunno if i am able to put it in words in the right sense of it but this gaze had so much more that can be felt only.

His need to stay in contact with her was so beautiful that moment that again baat matt band karo was so instinctive idt he wven realized just yet that this is jore than just his guilt scaring him to lose her

And her trying to look away trying to be all sakht had to fail the moment he gets the forst punch the dard she could feel too chot shivaay ko lag rahi thi but it was like she is getting the punches too that is their soul to soul connection mud ke delhna hi tha. I lived how her tears started falling while he just kept gazing it had questions pareshani a kind of pleading in her eyes tok why are you testing me like this and then when she sees him so battered and bruised her sabar goes for a toss she just cannot take it anymore and from there on it was a different ball game the way she shook him fussed over him questioned him cried for him yeah ok maybe am feom another world but that cannot just cannot be denied . It was her soul connection that was the RU anika ek dum zich hoke asking him aisa kyon karta hai why he tests her like this when he knows she geta equally hurt too. That was just magical the way she fussed over him the moment he passes out her dhadkan stopped once again .. and she calls om .

Also despite the superficiality of sibling scene don't forget he wakes up taking her name the last memory he jad was her fussing over him and he only thinks of her of that is not soul connection what is kt . That moment was the only thing worth watching in that otherwise blah scene.

Then the chappal scene as i said it was lovely his feeling his remorse he just wants to feel her pain her struggles his zameer not letting him be in sukoon i liked it toll evening . Evening bhi when i watched in mute niticed some nice expressions from anika but the song inam sorry not a fan of either

I liked the flute version way more

Oh I agree, Fary...he was deffo watching her like she was his only anchor now...his only light in darkness that he cannot look away from...but I also felt he was watching her almost with a knowledge that said that you can't leave me...that "kuch toh hai humaare beech" was so evident in his eyes.

And also word on Anika visibly feeling the pain of every punch that was hitting him...SC enacted that so touchingly👏...the soul connection was just bang on in this scene despite the lulzy fight...the flute music was adding to the poignancy.

Re: sibling scene...lol yes I noticed that he woke up taking Anika's name...that was the only good thing in that scene...it went downhill and trite from there...finally Shivaay ko Prinku obsession se kuch aage dikh raha hai is redux mein...let's see if it can continue...makers really need to give us a break from this OTT cloying bond. OmRu are fine...Prinku se break do.

Wait... hold on a sec
I had to pause and reply right away before reading further

Appaling it is to ask the same for another girl when they root for anika . Am no fan of P but are we seriously this shalllow ke anika ko koi na bole because she is lead and we love her but kisi aur ladki ko yeh chalega?

Besides P's character has also been questioned thatw as what put this whole torture drama on wheel. How can that be a pubish for shivaay ? Uski behan ladki nahi hai kia? Or her feelings her izzat just doesn't matter as she is a supporting character.

Again with you on how do we even decide a punisbment for this what can be the punishment for this? Along with this who are we to decide kisko kya ounishment milni chahiye and kis kis ki zabaan rokein. Her wounds are more caused by the verbal vaaar then the lhysical ones that are not even a question on her mind she somehow is overlooking all that because somewhere the haq they feel over each other is making her do that it is the words that cut deeper hence her logical question why question other when you said the same thing now how can you stop them when you were of same mentality . You started this and boy this time he felt the pangs it hit him on the right spot and i just loved the way shivaay cringed beautiful beautiful touch by NM

Aaj shivaay ko iss baat ki depth pata chali caz aaj baat kehte hain na apni izzat pe aayi alni maa behan biwi ko bola aaj he accepted her that in his heart toh laga jhatka and it did not feel insulting to him when he was saying it caz somewhere isme bhi he felt more justified ke mera toh haq hai yeh meri hai he felt that since start and uss din it was like maine hi toh kaha so whatever . But unfortunately it wasn't fine it could never be but atleast aaj he felt the depth of that word of just how much he crossed the line abhi tak toh they were not even oing over this part ek tarah bhulaye bhaithe thay but ab gadhe murde nikle bahat woh zakhm taza hua toh dard bhi hui

Omru were surprisingly sane in that scene sometimes i do feel bad for boys ubko bhi iss fakeness main ghussa dia hai they have totally lost the magic with an extra amgle added on. Can they atleast work on the boys bonding beyond just fake pappiyan jhappiyan least they cam do is that . Shivaay ke bhaiyon ke saath hi ild time jaisa kuch 1%hi bana do . Also they need to work on switching the mood between the scenes wohbjo ek natural switch hota tha pehle woh ab bilkul hi missing hai omru ke khudke jokes bhi fake lagte hain itna becharon ko ek doosre se cut off kar dia hai
