Life is beautiful
Happiness is state of mind
Spiritual pursuit elevates soul
Alexander too departed with empty hand

Happiness is state of mind
Emperors too faced gloom's wrath
Alexander too departed with empty hand
Eventually all is ash

Emperors too faced gloom's wrath
Mahavira renounced Kingdom in search of Peace
Eventually all is ash
Live to Die with grace

Surbhi,

My hands can take no more typing today, but just one point.

Hitler did not shoot himself because he was unhappy. The Allies were closing in on Berlin, and he did not want to be captured alive, that was all. It was a neat escape from trial and execution, like what happened to many of his assistants at the Nuremburg trial.

This said, you are an idealistic and very warm hearted person. That is why I am so fond of you despite the fact that we agree on almost nothing!

But you have to understand that some people are just the way they were. They would not have wanted to be any different either. And every chakravartin samrat in history, in India and abroad, waged war for expanding his empire. That is what the ashwamedha yagna was all about.

Finally, Alexander was not a sadist like Hitler and Stalin and Mao. He did not inflict suffering on others in order to derive pleasure from it. That is what distinguishes him from many other warlords. And he had an innate nobility of temperament that could appreciate the courage and nobility of an opponent like Porus. Which was probably why they developed a relationship of trust and friendship after the battle of the Hydaspes.

i am so sorry for making you write so much...i know hitler had no option but to die...but mara toh na wohh...it was not his wish to die. He died because he had no other option at the moment...mere opinions i believe is forum mein bahut kam hi logo ke saath match hote hain..may be because i am so lost about the history and still watching a historic show...i tooo find an attach with you...and thus i keep replying and sharing my point of view. Sometimes i feel i should just not write here ...but then i dont know why i keep writing ...may be because i cant stop watching porus due to rati di...and ab show dekhoongii toh openion hona bhi obvious hai. I completely agree that alex us tarah hi jiya jaise woh jeena chahtha tha and he dint wanted to be any different...aur har insaan ko apni zindagi apne tarike se jeene ka hak hain... i completely agree with the last paragraph too.
