I don't think he did anything wrong. He could have told her but his situation is difficult at the moment. They love each other which kind of makes his lie a white one. He is just trying to protect her from getting hurt. His intentions are right in this case.

Best option would be to just tell the truth. See, if he did then Anushka probably would not have said yes for marriage but he couldn't foresee the future and Vedant's changing colors.
Given his choices he did what was best at that point.

What he did was the right thing to do. He just kissed on her neck and cheeks, he is not some celibate. But then he did not take any fayda of the drunk girl.

I don't think he expected her to have no memory of what happen last night...
He came in the next morning to see her expression, but was lost when she did not recollect anything.
So when he saw her embarrassed and scared he just thought of hiding the truth as she would not be happy to hear the truth
