Sukumar has been trying for years or at least his films were in process of getting remade, but nothing happened till now.
He is a very good director and should make one film at least. I can't find anyone in Bollywood with similar aesthetics, frankly. It is like Rohit Shetty meets Shakun Batra. He can make a truly world class movie, appealing to masses with Indian sensibilities.
On Rangasthalam, that is perfect for a Bollywood remake with UP/Bihar/Rajasthan or any heartland Indian setting. The last half an hour is something that Hindi cinema has not seen in decades that had a big name attached to it. If people have similar emotional connect, the remake could be huge with a known star.

SLB has somehow developed a great mass sensibility and is picking (for remakes) or making the right subjects that are sure to attract a wider audience. I think I have said it before, Puli Murugan remake could be a gold mine, especially with Salman Khan. It would be massive. Even with Hrithik it would be big, but with Salman it would be the next level. Instead of the Race 3 crap or Dabangg 3 or Kick 2, he should be doing this remake.
