Chapter 4: Love and Lies
Shivaay's POV...
"apko mere NKK se problem thi na...jabki apke khud ke bhai Om najayaz hein..."
..the betrayal that Annika had given to him by using Om's truth...It wouldn't have hurt that much had it been anybody else...but Annika...She was...She was his wife...the only person he had let into his life other than his OmRu, Prinku, and Dadi...
That was a stab direct to his heart...
Shivaay:"Why Annika...?why did you do that...?"
Shivaay chukked his phone hard breaking it into pieces...
Jhanvi: "Don't do this to yourself Shivaay...please..."
Shivaay:"Badi Ma aap..."
Jhanvi:"Shivaay, you do realize that what happened that day doesn't matter to Om, Me or Tej..."
Shivaay:"It matters to me badi Ma...it matters very much to me...It was my fault...I should have realized it sooner..."
Jhanvi:"None of what happened that day was your fault Shivaay...neither was it Annika's...It was unfortunate that things had to be like that...but know this you haven't gone wrong about her...if it had hurt you that day to throw that divorce card on her...it would have hurt Annika more to use Om's issue on you that day...but she had no other choice that day..."
Jhanvi:"You know that I love you as much or even more than my love OmRu and Prinku...you are my son too...though I didn't give birth to you Shivaay...and I can't see you in pain...both of you...you both deserve a win...your love for each other deserves a win...call me romantic fool..."

By noon Shivaay was confident about one thing...there was more to the story than what he was seeing...Because OmRu's and Badi Ma's love for Annika has only gone up...even after all that happened...
He may have been oblivious to all these because his mind was clouded with anger towards her...but the mere sight of her just melted away it all...Annika was suffering as much as or even worse than he was...
At least he had his family with him...Annika was all alone...
And now that the seed of doubt was planted in his mind...He couldn't rest until he found the truth...It wasn't easy confronting Badi Ma about the truth...nor was it easy to conduct a DNA test discretely...
Shivaay grabbed his keys...He had to meet someone...The person who had started it all in the first place...
Shivaay was about to move out of the Oberoi Mansion unnoticed when his mother called him...
Pinky:"Shivaay...you returned just now na...where are you going off to again...?"
Shivaay:"Mom...I have to go for an important meeting..."
Pinky:"Remember that girl I spoke to you about...Aliya...She..."
Shivaay:"Mom...stop doing this...I really have enough things to mess my brain other than worrying about some girl you throw at me out of blue..."
Pinky:"Betta...I'm concerned for you...I know how hurt you were when she left...thank god that syappa is over now...And once you are finally Divorced...she Will be completely out of our lives...that filthy gold digger messing up my son's life...she...
Shivaay:"Stop it Mother..."
Anger flashed in his eyes...
Pinky:"Shivaay...all I was trying to say is..."
Shivaay walked out off the house in anger even before Pinky could complete anything...

Karunya Old Age Home...
In-Charge:"I can't promise that you would gain anything from the meeting Mr.Oberoi...but have to say...She cares for you a lot...After Mrs.Kapoor dropped her off here she was very disturbed saying she made a mistake...She demanded us to let her meet you a lot of time...And kept saying that She was the one who took care of you when you were young...but we thought it was all figment of her imagination..."
She said as she took Shivaay to Daima...
Shivaay sat besides the bed looking at the fragile face before him...
Shivaay:"Daima..."
Daima:"Shiv...Shivaay..."
Tears rolled down her eyes...
She joined her weak hands together apologizingly...
Daima:"Maaf kardo betta...meine tumhe dokha diya..."
Daima:"She made me say that...usne mujhse jhoot bulvaya...tumhe pareshan karne ka irada nahi tha mera..."
Shivaay:"aap yeh kah rahe hein ki aapne jho kaha wo jhoot tha...?Om ke baare mein...?"
Daima nodded...
Daima:"Mujhe maaf kardo betta..."
Shivaay:"Its ok Daima...aap pareshan math ho...mein apse naaraz nahi hoon...mujhe iske sachai bathake apne mera bohot bada madath kiya..."
Shivaay was so relieved that Om wasn't illegitimate...but a doubt sprouted in his mind as to why Badi Ma and Bade Papa stood by when Annika raised Om's illegitimacy issue...He had thought all this while that it was true...which was why they hadn't refuted it...
But looks like the issue is something else...
Annika had seen him at his worst and also at his best...She knew him...and used that to her advantage...Annika was deliberately doing that knowing that Om was legitimate...
knowing he would react like that if she had used that trump card...because iif there's anybody who knew him inside out...It was Annika...
What did she gain from that act...?
It was true that She had demanded for alimony...but she didn't withdraw money from the account he had made for her...
She didn't do anything, Other than moving out from his life...
It was like all were in on the secret...his brothers...Bade papa...badi Ma...they were hiding something from him...And from the looks of it...that was something big...
And He would get to the bottom of it...

Shivaay:"I'm his guardian too Annika..you can't go on taking decisions concerning him without consulting with me..."
Annika:"Sahil is my brother Shivaay...your relationship with him comes through me...and since we are no longer married to each other...you don't have any authority over my decisions about him and his future..."
Shivaay:,"I have documents to prove the contrary Annika...If you so much as step out of Mumbai with Sahil without my approval I'll bring down the full police force on you for going against the custody conditions..."
