Hi i am new to this forum (though have been the silent reader for sometime😆). I am eagerly reading all the different views here presented and just felt like i would like to add my perspective as well and see what you guys think about that. I would have ideally added it in other topic under discussion but wanted it to not get drowned in between and for maximum to get to read it so hope you guys don't mind. 😊

I really think that if the writer of the story focuses equally well on all the 3 main characters (Kunal, Nandini and Mauli) and justifies their emotions than we don't need to nor will need the urge to go down this slippery slope of perfect (mahan) or imperfect (not relatable) characters.

Watching this show from the first episode and i like the fresh take and picturization and also some of the conversations between the characters. Very relatable and closer to life. I think the challenge her for the makers and writers is to keep the soul and integrity of all the characters and don't go comprising it for the sake of emphasizing one aspect or character.

I haven't seen much of this production house or writer's work so i don't know exactly what to say except that i hope we get to see strong multi layered characters for all the leads(Kunal, Mauli and Nadini). This is one of the issues i have with the Indian shows or the ones that i have seen that they start on a strong note but then in between for trp race or whatever they mess it up an then to justify it either they turn one of the leads negative or butcher the characters of one of the leads and more often than not it is the male lead's character that suffers the butchering because the idea is that it is more important for the trp aunties to connect to the female lead or at least feel sympathy for her.

I hope that this show will be different in that aspect and for once we will have the essence of all the characters intact. And while i can see alot of tug going between pro Mauli or pro Nandini team i would put a different spin to all this and say that the key will lie in how well the writer justifies Kunal's character in the show and make or keep it relatable. It could be the difference between the audience feeling for all 3 characters and their respective pairings whatever the direction the story takes or only feeling pity for one and not liking or connecting to other(s).

Here's how i would like each character to be or remain:

Mauli : It is perhaps one of the easily relatable characters especially in perspective of today's women or working ladies. I think the writers don't need to do to much except keep keep this essence intact. The character doesn't needs to turns negative or gray but yes they can add different layers and emotions to it as the story progresses.

Nandini: I think this has been highlighted quiet alot that her journey from weak and dependent to strong and independent lady has to be shown. Likewise her possibly developing feelings for her BFF hubby will have to be shown and tackled in a mature and relatable way. Compared to Kunal this will be slightly easy as they have shown her in a bad marriage and Kunal is the likeable and ideal hubby types. (p.s. just wanted to add that her character too is relatable in its own way as in abuse victim and many in society who go through that, it will be writers and makers job to keep and make her character connectable to all if it isn't already to some.)

Kunal: This is where the main challenge for the writer lies. People will understand to some extend Nandini falling for a guy like Kunal but how that guy, who is for all that we can see, in a love marriage with his wife, start developing feelings for her will be the challenge here. Not only this has to be tackled carefully and maturely without spoiling the character of Kunal and turning him into some "thankless" type of guy but there needs to some justification and depth and background for it as well. For example this cold war between Dida and Kunal's mom over Kunal's father, i would like to see it more than just a plot of an issue for Mauli or Nandini to tackle. It could be something that has an impact on Kunal on how he is or beliefs etc.
Also it will be great if Kunal is shown to be equal helping hand for Mauli and not her just running around here and there for everyone and also working overtime to make his dreams alive. I liked the fact that they showed Kunal cognizant of this fact and him considering and taking up job of this Dr. Nayyar (if i am getting the name right). I hope the writer doesn't throws that away and goes for the convenient and cliched but also less relatable aspect of Kunal developing feelings because well he has nothing much to do and so he spend much time at home and help the lady in trouble and slowly fell for her.

So i hope that moving ahead the story will show growth, depth and maturity of all the characters. Since it's just a start so we shall give the writers and makers the freedom and space to go with what they have in mind. Who knows they may pleasantly surprise us and have solid backing and reasoning for what they plan to show but some where ahead if they deter we can always put our point forward.

So that was my perspective. Hope i made sense. 😊

A beautiful post dear!! I liked the way you talked about all the charecters in such a positive way!! I don't want any of these charecters to turn negative either! I hope the makers are capable of handling the story in a mature way!

Nice post ..

I totally agree about whatever u said about Kunal .. I thought of lots of possibilities but nothing really fits here and I still cannot understand what will make him suddenly fall for Nandini when he already has a perfect married life and a loving wife .. We can understand Nandini falling for a perfect man like Kunal after coming out of a bad marriage but Kunal has no such reason .. Only way out is CVs overnight turning Mouli into a villain and thus KuNan will b justified but its like compromising or sacrificing a character at the cost of KuNan which I dont want 😒 ..

Another possibility is Mouli might die in future and then both KuNan might come together because they will share the same loss of Mouli .. Other than this I see no way out .. But tagline itself hints that KuNan r going to b in a affair as it says emotions r emotions , they r neither right nor wrong , so well lets see ..
