^ I'm not talking about power lists on magazines and stuff. I'm talking about the power of getting away that comes with being a celebrity in this city. Once you are not close to the ruling party, you lose that power as well.
I know they're scared and that's what my point is. If they are scared and can't open a dialogue with the other side of the coin, then they should probably do the same with the common public as well and not turn into social media vigilants*.

*And by social media vigilants, I don't mean stop spreading awareness but do it in the correct way so that the public at large can be aware and act on the problems rather than enjoying a celeb scolding a commoner and making memes out of it or abusing the chap and his mother with such filthy comments.

We ought to ban plastics for good. India can surely create some natural alternative to plastic bags for milk and wrappers and stuff.
Plastic water bottles ought to be banned for good. I always holiday in places with rivers and drink natural spring water direct. What benefit do people derive from so-called hygienic water when it's chock full of endocrine disrupting BPAs.

And the disgusting people with zero sense of cleanliness should be culled. I guess that's those people with jhuggis on the main street. near the sector.

Chandigarh, June 19

Open defecation, leakage of rainwater and non-functioning lights and lifts are among some of the major problems being faced at the city's first multi-level parking in Sector 17 that was constructed at a cost of around Rs 50 crore. Those visiting the multi-level parking said lack of facilities was one of the major reasons for its failure to attract motorists.According to the terms and conditions of the agreement executed with the Mumbai-based company, Arya Toll Infra Limited, which is looking after the "smart parking lots in the city, managing the multi-level parking without any profit is also its responsibility. The company is depositing all earnings from the parking with the MC.The third floor of the multi-level parking is full of filth and is being used freely for defecation. While the city has been declared open defecation-free, the situation at the multi-level parking is pathetic.

Sure it should but the planning for it should start from a long time and arranegments should be made much in advance so that everyone is ready and the implementation happens successfuly instead of declaring sudden bans according to whims and fancies and then not knowing what exactly to do or how to control, be is cash or plastic. The problem is that everywhere politics is involved and hence no one does it wholeheartedly out of their own will just like how roads are filled with potholes for years while they are suddenly dented and painted two weeks before elections. When such planning comes from a bad space, implementation becomes really difficult.

Of course. Plastic bags have been banned for starters.
The govt has to have a clear platic policy and set aside funds for research. But they won't do that.
The existing plastic can be removed from landfills and injected into roads when they're next plastered. But they won't do that either because how else will the local party workers make money every six months.

Waise bhi YRF is slowly trying to enter the ruling govt's chamcha gang. I saw the head guy after Adi, forgot his name, at the party thrown for Netanyahu.

Environmental related is different from Swach Bharat. I don't think the government will go for a foreigner like Alia. Plus all the government ambassadors are self made. At best Alia might get a NA with all of Kjo's efforts. But even that is doubtful with Smriti out. Current ministers don't care for elitists.
This is election year. Political parties will need the brains to sell themselves in the media. Great business opportunity for good marketing brains. Maybe YRF is targeting that.
