Shivika and the Game of Chance

This Redux/Reboot/Leap of Faith whatever it is has been hyped to various degrees by the writers since the last two weeks...the concept of an AU anyways is hard to grasp for the aam junta of desi TV so I must say I was curious to see how Harneet tries to pull this off.

The premise seems to be built around the idea that Love is a matter of chance, of timing. Mentalist Baba was amusing me to some extent today cuz he was literally spouting the lines that Shivaay used to spout when the show first started...ki the idea of love is hyped by movies, songs and greeting cards😆...aaj wohi sab Mentalist Baba ne bola toh Shivaay's like no, dude...I've lived through it so now I believe in love and soulmates😆 and Anika's gonna be my soulmate no matter how many do-overs we get...

Here I liked the bit of Shivika remembering their first meeting...nicely edited...also I noticed some new bg theme scores being used today...they altered the solo Shivaay and Anika bg scores to some bits but I still liked the new ones :)

People aww-ing over them describing their first meeting was cute...lol

Mentalist Baba reminds me of those witches in fairytales who resent the prince and princess and decide to curse them to test their fate😆...and the same seems to have been done with Shivika today.

A literal storm rises in time to the ominous words of Mentalist Baba...poor Shivika literally battling against the elements...first came the thunder, then the wind with leaves swirling everywhere, and then came the rain

I was curious if they will be rebooted back to the day of their first meeting...but no, instead it seems like time stood still for a moment and their paths then diverged...Shivaay left her hand, and they simply walked away without turning to look at each other...so Harneet went for the metaphor instead...lol

This was REALLY beautifully shot...props to the direction👏

I actually liked the almost calm beginning to the redux...Shivaay and Anika both literally come walking in from the rain...because the end too happened in rain...they walked away in one rain scene only to walk into a new world also as if they just came in from the rain...nice idea...

Shivaay now hates the rain...probably cuz the rain was where he was seperated from Anika by the elements...Anika too watches the rain a bit disconcerted...as if something is weird..."kuch ajeeb hai" even Shivaay says as he watches the rain...the ADHM sequence was good and again nicely shot

It's like both of them lost a piece of themselves that day in the rain and it shows in the hollowness in their eyes now...something is missing...Shivaay blames it on the rain...Anika has just become quieter as a person...they are not themselves, so it doesn't feel right...I don't think it's meant to feel right either😆

This time, Anika has a last name...she has a dream to start a wedding planning business "Shubh Vivah"...she wears salwar kameez, dupatta like a simple girl...no airs...lol

The sense I got from today was that they wanted to determinedly leave it all feeling strange, unfamiliar...these characters weren't meant to do the exact same things in this AU...precisely cuz they "missed their chance" that day it seems...even though that first meeting was never actually rebooted, it seems we are to presume that because Shivika didn't meet that day, they are not themselves...their world is not itself...how they manage to find their way to each other in this world is what I suppose the premise is now.

The thing that pinched me the most today was the new Daadi...everything else can be changed and still somehow be made to work...the new Daadi being changed is like the very fulcrum of the show being utterly off center...the actress just isn't fitting into the vibe of this show, sadly...it's like a very bland addition making for very typical Daadi pota scenes...and there is no bond with Shivaay...no Billu...lol

But I suppose we can't be getting the same things in every lifetime. Intrigued to watch Shivika's part unfold for now...the new shade of melancholic angst was something that appealed to me today :)

this is going to be very very long i have so much to say generally on this whole thing . The episode worked for me big time made me excited left me intrigued gave me Lulz and heartache too.

I have to start with the mubarakan for everyone seems like we might just get respite and get something substantial after a long while so that calls for a celebration yay but moving on The episode was executed in a very nice manner so far and gulneet do deserve an applause for thinking out of box however twisted it is but unique toh hai no punarjanam no leap no separation no Misunderstanding yet all of it and none of it 😆.

here i have to make this Point this is an AU . baba awasthi ke monologue se obvious hai he changed/altered their characteristics in this transportation to make sure they lose. they told him how they were what their beliefs were and they will meet but baba took it as an insult also shivaay did not launch his book😆 toh bataye bina he threw them into an AU changed the entire scenario to make sure they fail but woh "shivika" hi kya jo haar jaayein. yeh universe ho ya koi aur Shivika toh ek dooje ke liye hi bane hai they will rise above it all.

again this much characteristic change was necessary they can't be exactly in the same universe it is very hard to make an entire new story out of exact same situations and scenarios so itna change is necessary but it is not pointless i do see reasons behind both side . i connected still with both and the best Part the core seems to be still there with thodi bohat changes i still felt they were mere wale hi shivika the SOUL to SOUL connect of both was beautifully highlighted in the ADHM seq in the mellowed confused lines of both them not feeling everything is fine because they themselves are unaware of what happened with them awathi played them.

however that rain sequence was so beautifully shown too esp that pause and them going their own ways really gave me goosebumps. how a moment ago they walked out so confidently so in bliss to be on the pause *sigh*

Ofcourse i missed anika ki lingo her fierceness but then i saw confidence in this anika too yes she is lot calmer she doesn't like phrases like raita phail gaya but she still stood out to me she was not usual sanskari types still . Ofcourse it makes sense why she is calmer a normal girl with her dreams and ambitions who runs her stall still but dreams big. this time the girl knows her last name her identity so she is probably not as scrutinized at every step of life . her struggles might be different this time. Shivaay ke liye bhi he seems to be ripped off of the very NKK he was proud of as in he is still oberoi but very grounded and seemingly with no parents. i feel they are going with dadi being the only one raising the boys and again i found it interesting how many times have we discussed that dadi did spoil them they were not thrown into real world as such. which they are still not but this time it is also agar parvarish different hoti toh boys kitne different hote so i found that interesting good to see the other 2 making themselves useful too even if i have no interest in them i still felt they were not upto the mark but shivika wise i am content very content. caz the progress is not up at stake it is a very very interesting take.Anika has ambitions and her characteristics too. just not that ajeeb words wali vocab caz this time her struggles seem to be different not as hard as last time she seems to struggle to make ends meet but nobody is hurling abuses at her making her sakht of that level so she has this very naazuk side to her too and mind you SC brought such a different flavor in this usual everyday heroine too i can't exactly pinpoint what it was but ahh the girl won me even in this. sahil was a cutie as always.

they both are so lost without each other uff it hurts. shivaay needs rickshaws to come home aww mera billu chopper se seedha rickshaw pe but again they managed to sell it me . He is not happy with shaadi ka idea his irritation was very much there ke kya har waqt shaadi shaadi . he misses anika he is lost he is more humanized i felt ek dum grounded . people are saying they felt no emotion i disagree there was a lot of emotion in the ADHM

my Understanding the baba purposely changed so much to challenge them to make sure they fail but they will rise above it. my only thing is thoda aur clear kar sakte thay viewers ke liye kya hua but yeah you have to watch it twice to get the gist

Props to NM SC to instantly bring so much of variation again such different shades of shivika to this version of shivika and make me connect almost instantly make it believable and left me intrigued. ig they don't tamper with their initial plan this can be very very interesting journey ahead let's see and we have our shivika in real world

best part is journey is not being hampered and it is shivika central too we have a story ka somewhat return too and no grupbaazi aur kya chahiye

for now i am very very glad and i might be missing things which will come to me aahista aahista i will continue

Exactly...that is the intriguing part to me...this is like Shivika only but with something missing inside them that they both can't identify...it's not quite like a rebirth either as they do in most shows where ppl get flashbacks of their previous lives...lol this is like a feeling of bereftment in this version of Shivaay which shows that feeling of deja vu for the original Shivika...they are both missing something, yearning for something but not sure why or what...it's an interesting concept so far...dunno how far Harneet can play it but I like the premise.

As you said, their true selves still seem to be inside them somewhere but just seem subdued for now...if Awasthi has issued the challenge, then ideally Shivika should be defeating him somehow and proving the power of their love again.

It's an interesting new subdued shade for now...not quite like the previous seperations either I'd say...kuch alag feel hai for now.
